I own a 2000 Dodge Viper ACR. I have wanted to try a TVR since my Gran Turismo days. It’s always felt like TVR and Vipers shared the same spirit, questionable build quality with a bit too much power and amazing looks. Unfortunately they’re a bit difficult to come by here in the US.

It's going to take every ounce of self control I have not to want to import a Sagarus when they become legal in the US in several years. I've lusted over one ever since Jeremy Clarkson reviewed one on Top Gear. The only two things that might prevent me from doing so are the prices that keep going up, and the fact that I know it'll break, often, as TVRs do.

It was clear enough to me in the 1990s that a TVR was not for me but I definitely enjoyed that they existed and I think the automotive world is a poorer place without them. It's a poorer place overall, compared to the 90s of course. The 90s was probably close to the apogee of automobile engineering in terms of internal combustion, transmission and suspension. What has followed has been the gradual transformation of cars into soulless, bloated, GBP 100.000 iPads with wheels. If TVR hadn't failed when it did it would certainly have gone under now or had to change its character beyond recognition to survive.

Despite many aborted and half arsed attempts,it seems that there is still some interest in TVR from a business stand point, having owned 3 Chimaeras,a Griffith,3 tuscans ,a Tuscan S and 4 Cerbera's I would be happy to see a new TVR become a reality. I have a pal I got parts through, who used to be a part of the Peninsula team from Cornwall and still has an 'ear in'. Apparently something is definitely ongoing but he is reluctant to state much more than what's already public knowledge, that is that there will be a petrol and electric version launched simultaneously,The current backer is a Lithium mining company from Africa,TVR's required investment is quite substantial but chicken feed to them. There Various and rapidly changing rules regarding compliance are always going to be a stumbling block for a company like TVR.
