Quick video of the crew switching the passenger cars around Grand Junction the other day. Included in the consist is Norfolk Southern 1580, the first EMD SD40 built for the Norfolk & Western, which is currently visiting the museum for restoration back to N&W colors before going to it's new home at the Roanoke Chapter NRHS.

Actually 1580 was dead in tow. NC&St.L 710 was providing power at the other end of the train.

Indeed! Having the 1580 visiting here is special for sure. It will be nice to see eit restore to N&W colors before going home to Roanoke.

NS #1580 in a switching consist. I know that its there for a repaint back to N&W colors but is it possible for #1580 to be restored back to full operating condition?

That I don't know. All I know is that NS did restore it to running condition and then stuck it back into storage again so I don't know what condition it's in mechanically.
