I also faced the same problem. I had to replace the battery, that too started discharge quickly. Changed the ignition coil and then once again the new battery. Spent around 5000 for this issue. Battery has become super important to my apache 160.

Sir, I would like to share my part of story in the same situation... Actually, the problem is not that of the DRLs, but..the drama, they came up with, regarding removing the kick start system..I have a TVS bike (TVS Victor) BS3. So you can see, there nothing to worry about the DRLs. The Thing Was tht, I also, Left my key inside my bike, keeping the ignition on, for almost 4-5 hrs. and I faced the same problem as yours. But, as I have a kick Start, I was able to start my bike, but.. every time, I was using the horn or the turning siren, my bike went off.

Thats the point, put some dedicated button for it or program such a way that it only glows after 6 or 7pm after sunset and more after sunrise, it can be done surely with rightly configured instrument cluster.

Same problem, changed magnetic starter coil and battery, spent almost 5k, after that issue was resolved. TVS should look into this issue.

But engine is not running, bike is idle. Idle case mai battery discharge ho jayegi kyun DRL's (front light) aur instrumental cluster taking voltage. But when bike startes, back emf works and battery charges automatically. Battery just do the work to start the bike (Self Start) and basic functions like light indicators and horn.

Warm every time when you start now, its okay no need to worry. Just make sure use key ignition instead engine kill switch, most of the time practice using key ignition off, saves your battery.
