It happens to all Scots, I stayed in Germany for a number of years and spoke the queens 🤢 when I ran into a fellow Scot the accent would just come out naturally and my German pals wouldn’t understand me at all, they understood Englisch but not my accent

I always knew he was Scottish, but it is incredible how great he is talking with an american accent on Grey's. You would've never guessed he was from Scotland. I love him though. he's so handsome and has such a charming laugh.

I have always think it is a shame that Kevin McKidd does not speak in his Scottish accent on Grey's Anatomy; I might be bias as I am Scottish too, however his accent is not difficult to understand and they could have written it into a story line.

They originally wanted a British actress but since Sandra Oh is Canadian and does not have a British accent they had to come up with a new backstory for the character. Now Sandra Oh's character is a British-born American which is explains why she works for the British government but has an American accent.
