I’m only 11 minutes into this video and already Joyce has been ragged on several times. I really think the Sims team missed the point of her character. Every scene, including the ‘frazzled mum buys a new phone and asks for an advance’ scene, adds depth to her character. She is probably the best and most empathetic character in S1. Without her slowly unravelling over the loss of her son, we would only have the friends trying to find Will in a more detached way. We NEED her to empathise with and every scene is KEY.

That is later proven by the monster being there for Nancy to see. The real sin is why Jonathan’s house that is basically a shake in the woods, would be close to the very expensive nice neighborhood that the party happened.
