Ford only transmission specialist of 25 years,,just wanted to say that What causes the forward clutch to fail on these transmissions is constant 3-4 and 4-3 shift cycling ,,caused mostly by heavy footed drivers at highway speeds,,,the forward clutch turns off in 4th and back on in 3rd,,,so a heavy footed driver with constant up and down shifts 3-4,,and 4-3,,,is the number one cause When the friction plates wear thin it allows the forward piston to over travel out of it's bore and the outer seal gets torn

Where can i get my foward clutch or a rebuild kit with the whole front clutch im not sure exactly what jt is but i have lost all foward gears but still have reverse please help

Everything's good there... All I need is that seal for the forward piston... Can't go any further...😂

I'm thinking really hard about working on my Ford transmission. Same one. My 3rd and 4th dropped one day. Neutral right out while traveling. Still had first and second.

Loose or bad servo pins can make your clutch packs to go out also

How did you know the forward seal blew? We're the edges ripped?

@@jamesscherbenske5985 I'm not shure I'm a learn as I go,but most likely is 4r70w or 75w,my intermediate stub shaft had the spline's stripped off.

Awesome video brother, I'm nearly positive that front clutch pack piston seal is the problem in my trans. Worked fine then a couple seconds to go in drive then 30 seconds then it would come out of gear at a stop light to no forward gears all within a couple day period. I'm thinking the seal was going away one little piece at a time. I'm like you where about auto trans, scary. But I believe you've given me the confidence to give it a go, oh and save that two grand😃 what the hell I can always get a salvage transmission and like you said taking a couple apart you gain confidence.
