OT5 wasn't divided into main vocal with back up vocals like other groups. They're the first and only accapella dance/ idol group until now and they're divided by each member's tone actually. U-know Yunho was bass, Choikang Changmin was Baritone,... so they're all main vocals in specific songs that fit their voice. For example in their most iconic song Mirotic, Jaejoong got like 2 lines because it's not his type but in Bolero he sings a lot hahaha

Yes I’ve been told to check out their acapella records but honestly them pulling off putting 5 strong vocalist in a group is insane wish it could’ve worked out but I understand why it unfortunately did not. Even JYJ had to change. Maybe that’s best because I don’t think many groups would have survived had they stayed around as OT5 🤣

Their official main vocalist was Jaejoong. However, people used to think it was Junsu because he was more popular as a vocalist. It's better to say both of them were the main vocals. These 2 used to took the most parts. Especially in the Japanese songs.

“I wish they never split” gurlllll I’m a Cassie since 2006 when they split my world crumbled. I stopped listening to kpop altogether but still follow 2VXQ and JYJ. Anyway I’m glad newer generation kpop fans are rediscovering OT5/DB5K. I don’t know how many Cassies are still holding on to AKTF now; seeing how it just seems impossible with Yoochun’s case and all - but daymmm if they were to have a reunion concert or something I would sell my kidney for a ticket 😂

Fellow Cassie since 2006 here - countless groups have come and gone and Kpop has gone mainstream around the world, but I have never and will never claim any other fandom name than Cassiopeia. I'm still Keeping The Faith, with full understanding that an OT5 reunion is nigh impossible for multiple reasons. But even seeing 4 of them publicly acknowledge each other, or better yet, get the chance to sit down and clear the air between them, would mean the absolute world to me. For now, I'll hold the precious memories of that magical time in my heart and keep hoping ❤️❤️

10:30 junsu has sung this song by himself a few times too (since the split) and i totally recommend listening to that. he does it justice for sure but it definitely feels very heartbreaking!

as fans we also really wish they didn't split. they were originally trained as an acapella group, so harmonization is in their blood now basically, and having 5 members does make them stronger. SM is really good at selecting talented people to be in their groups but their contracts can be exploitative, so JYJ really felt like they had to leave: they barely got any sleep, flew from japan to korea for events several times in one day, very unfair profit distributions, only one week off for the whole year, etc. and they were all teenagers when they debuted, so they didn't understand completely what they were getting themselves into. because of their lawsuit against SM though idol contracts were shortened from 13 years or more to 7 years only now. it's a shame though that JYJ were pretty much blacklisted from mainstream korean tv by SM for almost 15 years. they're slowly coming back though into the spotlight

They did what they had to do! I have the upmost respect for someone speaking up for fair treatment. It’s a shame but their struggles helped so many others from falling into the same pitfall. I’m glad they are coming back. At least Junsu and Jaejoong. Believe me I’m invested now. I’m so glad I chose to get to know this group from start to now.

I discovered them in 2006 and I've been stuck on them ever since. I had never came across talent like them. And the 5 together was the most unique thing I had ever heard. Nothing compares. Like you said they are all so talented. And you can't even go wrong with whichever you explore. I'm just sad I never got to see the 5 of live. But I've seen Changmin and Yunho several times as well as Junsu. And did get to see JYJ twice. Jaejoong is the one that does that insane note in Love in The Ice. He does more of a rock sound now and he's so incredible! I recommend checking out JYJ stuff (the three that left) some great live performances are In Heaven, creation, Get out, Empty, Ayy Girl (in Japan)

Everyone wishes they had stayed as a quintet. Blame SM Entertainment for letting this happen! These two songs are the encore of the legendary "Secret Code" concert. Some of the performances there can be said to be the best presentations of songs such as Begin and Why Did I Fall In Love With You. Or the only performances of Wasurenaide and 9095. Or the unique (as choreography) performance of Mirotic.

Their most difficult, challenging song is Tonight. My favorite is the live performance from the "Rising sun" concert, which is their first tour. But JYJ were amazing. Vocally they were on another level. They have astonishing live performances of "W" /A Nation/, In Heaven, Creation, Fallen Leaves, Boy's Letter, Mission....

Part of JYJ's blacklisting, after they won their lawsuit, was SM fearing the three (Junsu, Yuchun, Jaejoong) being able to keep the TVXQ harmonies. JYJ has some incredible songs where you can hear that OT5 sound.
