I just heard this song and I'm obsessed. It's truly the most beautiful thing I have ever heard. I played it for my wife, and she said she doesn't like the singing, and the song is boring and doesn't go anywhere. We'll be filling out the divorce papers as soon as possible.

Whoever put this remix together did a beautiful and respectful job of it. I've always played the original two or three times in a row because it didn't feel long enough so I'm glad to have come across this extension, thank you. I'm sure KB would be very approving of it. I have it in my will that Under the Ivy be my funeral song. I'm sure I would die peacefully if I was listening to this when the moment comes. I adore every note of KB's staggering body of work (even the ones I don't like) but Under the Ivy moves me and resonates within me in a way no other piece of music ever has. I'm sure other devotees of her music have their own special choice. Thanks again for sharing this. ☮🌏☮

I want this at my funeral, sounds morbid I know. However, me and the other half have discussed this. I’ll have a white rose on my head stone. So if he’s ever missing me he can listen to this song and “...go to the rose, go right to the white rose. I’ll be waiting for you!” Fair to say I made him cry lol

The most INFP song ever. This song brings me to tears every time. Retreating to the inner sacred, and hoping someone will follow you through the leaves, and perhaps see what blooms there.

Ah, subjectivity. I always thought that this was a tale of a woman losing her virginity, remembering it, but not pleasantly, with regret. (What else could the White Rose symbolize? What was the secret)? I heard her tell why she wrote this & let's just say we should both keep our interpretations. It's more fun that way.

Such a wonderful, sad, beautiful song. I will always love Kate Bush. Thanks for the post. I was afraid that the "extended" version would not have the power of the original, but it's very powerful.

You did Kate proud on this. Listen to the extended remix of Running Up That Hill; it's satisfying because it gives you more of what you love. I'm in California (and need something to compensate for the election results) -- will look for the BBC presentation. Thank you, my friend.

Politics today makes me want to comfort eat ... chronically! Kate is among the rarest of individuals who can make you fall in love simply with her speaking, let alone singing, voice. She truly resonates with hearts. It's as though she were "The Jig of Life" incarnate: the wise, imposing, weathered, strong, mature woman interwoven with the fragile, naive, playful, rosy-cheeked young lass. Reminds me of that Woody Allen quote: “Love is too weak a word for what I feel - I luuurve you, you know, I loave you, I luff you, two F's, yes.”

i cried at this. i got the running up the hill single for my 8th birthday in 1985 and i loved Kate bush and I still do! I loved this song and it is my favorite kate bush song just in front of delius (song of summer) and when i saw this i listened to it properly because i hadn't heard this song for about 20 years and i just got so many memories and I just had to cry. Thank you so much. Do you think you could do an extended version of delius (song of summer) please only if it's not to hard. What's your favourite album by Kate bush? Mine is hands down never forever . Thanks x

the general perception of this song is that it's sad and I don't perceive it to be a sad song but a vulnerable one. we tend to mistake both emotions. It's - to me - being scared but willing to share your safe space with that whom you love. The verses, the delivery are the inner dialogue happening through that decision. I feel seen, heard and understood by Ms Bush's writing.
