Jason's, Giovanni, and Aubrey Organics are staples for my natural hair as well - love them! Also want to add that AA hair grows in a variety and combination of textures. As someone with wavy hair with straight pieces, I know the challenge of making mixed textures work, and have to say your TWA is fierce.

I know I'm about 6 years late, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE your TWA. I just did a big chop yesterday, and my texture is just like yours including the straight parts in the middle. How do you get the mid-section of your hair to curl? You're gorgeous.

Thank you so much for sharing. I wore and maintained my hair similarly several years ago and I, as well as many other people, loved it. I used to get so many compliments and actually met my now husband (he said he was attracted by my hair) at that time. Since then, I've been natural, relaxed and now locked. The problems is I'm not feeling the locs any more, I need to start afresh - it's time to renew.

@iamsillywarm I use a bit of Jojoba oil and/or my shea butter mix when I need a little extra sheen or moisture. But the leave-in does me well with the olive oil gel. Thanks!

Thanks! I loved the video. I have been natural for over 8 years and I recently did the big chop again after I damaged my hair by flat-ironing at a very high heat. You just showed me why my TWA style is not as uniform as yours. I see that you use a circular motion when applying the gel and re-wet to distribute the gel which is a great tip. I will try it tomorrow morning on my hair. Thanks again. D

I did my big chop on 12/19/13. and I've used the Eco Style Gel (Olive Oil) since day one!!! and my hair is just like yours. some parts are straight, curly, and I have this one part in the very middle that just does its own thing. but never thought of putting conditioner on my hair with the gel. that actually makes sense to me!!! Thank you so much for this!!!!

Great video! I have cut my hair down to maybe a quarter of an inch and have had no idea what to use on it. Thank you soooooo much for advice on cheaper products. OMG!!! You are the first person other than myself that I've heard of using Jason!!! Go girl, I love this brand as well. I use the biotin shampoo and conditioner. I live in Europe and it's more expensive over here, but it's soooo worth it. I'm interested that you also use the ECO styler gel. I've tried it once and it didn't work for me. I'm going to try it again though and see what happens. Your hair looks great. Much love!!

Absolutely love, love, love your EYES. What are the eye colors used? Ditto on the natural hair texture. The ONLY product I used when wearing my hair your length was Ampro pro-styling gel (brown). Yes, naturally defined curls are possible without CHEMICALS or TEXTURIZERS.

Girl I can totally relate..my hair grows straight in the mid section and then curls/coils everywhere else with crazy straight pieces that are not relaxed ends but it just does that!

I too have a patch of hair at the crown that doesn't care to curl at. all. And when I had longer nat. hair, the hair on the sides(left specifically) would knot/break easily because it was so dry and tightly coiled. Thanks for this.

Great vid, your TWA is fab. I also ordered the AE Bear Fruit Hair leave in. I agree with you, if wonderful. I use it everyday and my hair thanks me for it. Try adding it to the water in your spray bottle, it dilutes really well and it maintains its integrity as a leave in. Got that tip from AE as well. Please do a vid on your eyes. They are beautiful

Hey Ebony, the people asking you those questions about the chemicals may not understand the nature of certain types of natural hair textures. I think alot of non-naturals may be surprised to learn that you don't have to be mixed to have pretty curls. I can tell that you don't have a texturizer and I love your TWA! BTW, I've got that AE Leave-In by Bear Fruit Hair too. I love it and also got their Pistachio Cream Deep Conditioner too. I also want to try the desert moisturizer too.

Your hair is very beautiful!!! Your tutorial is helpful. When you use your leave-in conditioner with the Olive Oil EcoStyler Gel does your hair dry out or stay moisturized all day? And do you put any type of oil (coconut oil/olive oil/brazil nut oil) in your hair with the leave-in conditioner and Olive Oil EcoStyler Gel?
