Interestingly, even though the local airport in Wahpeton (KBWP) has an automated weather station, the current conditions used on The Weather Channel are those from Fargo, North Dakota, about 40 miles away.

I noticed the exact same thing in the northern Michigan town of Gaylord back when they had the XL. Gaylord has its own weather observing site at a sizable airport (and it showed up on the 8 city product), but the current conditions used Bellaire, also about 40 miles away.
