Tweetsie Railroad Heritage Weekend 2021: The Return of the ET&WNC (Saturday, August 28th)

On Saturday, August 28th, Tweetsie Railroad kicked off their annual Heritage Weekend with two separate trains running around the park. Ex-White Pass and Yukon 2-8-2 190 was hauling the regular “Wild West Train” while ET&WNC 4-6-0 12 was hauling the “Tweetsie Special”. This was also the “unveiling” of 12’s new extended smokestack. The shop crew raised the stack to be the height it was when 12 was built. 12 was also donning its “Boiler Tube Pilot” and was showing off a beautiful black smokebox. The consist for 12 consisted of the flatcar, this time with rails on it, and Coach 5 while 190 had the regular coaches. Both locomotives put on a show and I had a wonderful time. Enjoy!

Would have loved to have made this weekend, but couldn’t get off work. Great video! I only wish that the park was able to acquire and save more of the original ET&WNC equipment
