Thanks. I've been listening to the Matrix shows (complete 4 disc box set that is) for years and they never get old to me. I think it's the best Doors performance caught on tape.

It's a fantastic job of this version of this song. This particular song has always been a favorite song for me. Especially hearing only the keyboard version of this song. A very cool way of playing this particular song.

Thanks. Your videos are great - I picked up a lot of useful techniques from your Waiting for the Sun, Take it as it Comes and Break on Thru videos.

I bought "The Doors" album brand new when it first came out. Played the heck out of it. Never knew, until years later, that the bass was a keyboard. Thanks to KZbin and you guys, now I know how it was done. Very cool, indeed! "Twentieth Century Fox" is, and always will be my favorite Doors tune. Thanks.

Thanks! I can't get enough of the Doors, too bad they left us so soon. I use the Kronos, it has these 3rd party sound set for the VOX organ, all the presets from the Doors, sounds fantastic, like having the real thing!

So many minute details in these. Defiantly a Wes Anderson vibe, and also, you're dressed like Manzarek... but on top of all of that there some some serious professionalism in these little Doors Keyboard Demonstration films. These a short films sir. Great job

Wow, thanks for the kind words. "Wes Anderson vibe..." you made my day, high praise indeed.

Thanks Chris. Great job. Nice equipment! Animals ,60's garage and Pyschedelia , The Seeds! , Doors the End , whatever ! Keep it coming Mr Nicini. You have the power ;-) Don't know about anyone else but I watch your vids over and over painstakingly learning the finger movements ( darn those black keys at times!) So much appreciated. Your inspiring me to keep learning and practicing.

Wow, thanks a lot for the nice comment! Glad you get something out of the videos. I'll get another one out soon. I've been hopefully, slowly, getting another tribute band together but I love shooting the videos. Just never enough time.

YESSS NEW VID, I love your channel by the way and I'm in love with The Doors. Also do you have any advice on buying a good Vox Continental? Also keep up the great work and I love your channel :)
@chrisnicini8347 жыл бұрын
Wow, thanks for the kind words. As far as getting a Vox there are 3 on Ebay right now. The problem is everyone knows what they're worth so it'll be tough to get one cheap. Save up, spend the money and think of it this way...it's an investment. If you ever want the money back you could probably sell it for a profit. Or buy a beat up one, put a little work into it and trade up when a nicer model comes along.

One day the band would say, wow, she's a fox .So I ask My mom Janice what does that mean.... But she smiled and would not answer cause I was small....So just b4 Jim went to Jail, he asked me, hey what do you think about your new baby sitter ? And I tell him she's a twentieth Century fox, and everyone was amazed at how smart I was for a child like 2 years old.... They all broke out laughing !!!! Members of the band and my ants were there, So the rest is history !!!!, I really don't anticipate anyone believing me, but you cannot take that away from me

Yo I'm dumb, I'm realizing that it's not your voice but a live recording of Jim, oops. Still, fantastic fingerwork!

There's a fantastic video someone made that's a nice companion piece to this tutorial. It's 20th Century Fox put to a breathtaking visual collage of photos from the 60s. Check it out, highly recommend: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e4atZp-YgMyae9E

Where did you get clean audio?
@chrisnicini8346 жыл бұрын
Not sure what you mean by clean audio but the track of The Doors playing is from the Complete Matrix Tapes (2008) and I recorded myself playing to the track and mixed it over them playing.
@rainbowbridge47666 жыл бұрын
Chris Nicini Yes but when i look up live at matrix twentieth century fox it sounds distorted but on yours the singing is clear Btw where did you get that beautiful (twentieth century) vox?
@chrisnicini8346 жыл бұрын
If you're looking up 20th century fox on youtube you may be hearing an earlier slowed down, distorted bootleg...? I found my Vox on ebay about 10 years ago. Apparently it had been sitting in a closet at an upstate NY radio station unused for decades .

Chris Nicini Holy shit i can only dream man, take good care of it it seems like you do!
@chrisnicini8346 жыл бұрын
I do, thanks. Vox's aren't too hard to find, it's paying for them that's tough. Now the gold sparkle bass...that's hard to find!

show me how to play gloria please :)
@chrisnicini8347 жыл бұрын
Gloria's not so hard, what are you having trouble with? The bassline is pretty much E -E -D-A over and over again except for the last chorus.
