Loving this! As a rule I have a tougher time with tiny leafed Hoyas but after seeing this I’m going to pay much closer attention to the one I have!! Thank you!

I think I’m leaning towards the small leaf Hoyas. Mostly because I’m short on space. Thanks for the video. Have a good week. 💚🌿🪴🌱💚

I have so many problems with most small leaf hoyas, I believe it's just to dry where I live. It's so unfortunate because I really love small leafs. So happy to see yours are doing well. I wish my Routundaflora was as big and full as yours. Thanks for the great video

Hey Ric, thank you for all the information in this video. I almost missed it, because (I thought) small leaves are not my thing (but I changed my mind after watching 😂). 17:34 _Photosynthesis and Splash_ - I think splash has no negative effect on photosynthesis, even more, it theoretically might even help with photosynthesis, as light, crossing different materials, is spread into different directions, so even thylakoids at difficult angles get hit and can collect it. This might even reduce aging at the cellular level, because the amount of harsh radiation that potentially destroys the DNA of cells or mitochondria becomes distributed evenly alongside, giving the individual cell time to repair the damage, before it gets hit again. I think the theory is plausible, because raising tissue efficiency by extending surfaces is a central element in evolution. It seems logical to take it into account, when some 'new' behavior is progressively seen along many species of the same genus. Still, it might also be complete bs 😂

Hi Ric: I can't believe how fast the week goes by. My hoya Fusca Purpureo and Sulawesi both have leaves bigger than my hands. I have little hands!!. The only hoya I have with little leaves is the Mathilde. Living in an apartment near Toronto, and having to bring in my hoyas at the end of each season, I love the freedom your hoyas have to just grow!!!!! Hoya Paradise!!

Definitely easier leaving them out. I can’t seem to grow anything indoors

I love tiny leaves! I didn't know there were so many sigillatis. I was surprised, though, you didn't mention H. sigillatis ACEH, since I got one of those from you last year. Thanks for the wonderful video, keep them coming!

I started my obsession with hoyas by collecting the smaller leafed varieties. I have now expanded my collection to those with unusual blooms. I think I will always hold a special place in my heart for these cuties! What mix do you have your sigillatis collection in? Is it simply orchid bark? That pyrifolia caught my eyes. Looks like a "bella" variety. I NEED that one in my collection. Let the hunt begin 🔍🔎

most of those are in a chunky mix of mostly coconut husk and perlite

Ric what substrate do you plant your hoyas in? I would love a hoya dragon fly. Do you know where I can get one?
@ricshoyasRHM2 жыл бұрын
It varies… some of my other videos discuss the different substrates. I’m sorry, I dont have any dragon fly available now.
