TWG Episode 18: Will Installing Sway Bars on the Chevelle Really Make a Big Difference?

Nice upgrade. 👍 Sway bars are pretty simple how they work, yet so complex. As the weight shifts to the outside wheel during a turn, the force pushing that wheel "up" into the wheel well is transferred to the inside wheel to also push it "up", helping to keep their ride heights as equal as possible. At the same time, the momentum that's causing the inside "fender" of the car to lift off of the ground through the turn is transferred to the outside "fender" to also try to push it off of the ground, simultaneously. It's really quite magical if you think about it.

A few things I would recommend that aren’t really expensive and are not power adders since Declan is an inexperienced driver are: transmission pan with drain plug, polyurethane sway bar bushing & end links, tubular panhard bar, tubular lower control arms, strut tower brace, tubular steering brace, shocks & struts, and change the rear gear oil. Those thing would give him some good experience and help learn more about the Camaro and how the suspension works. I really enjoy your channel!

It should handle like a dream indeed. Not Cadillac, mind you, but a most definite improvement. You looked far more comfortable driving afterwards that's for sure, Tom.

ANTI-SWAY BAR ! lol..think you should correct the paint on the IROC instead of a respray. it CAN be done ! cans of clear 2k have come a long way. my 2cents again- i think u should refresh that 305 n keep the car original, cost effective and simple...either way, I'll be watching n rooting for you ! (shoulda made Declan do the sway bars )...😃👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Sorry, standing my ground here. They are Sway Bars. That’s their name. We can agree that’s probably bad advertising or mislabeling but it’s what they’re called. I wish we could save the paint. It’s too far gone. All the horizontal surfaces are worn to the primer. It’s not easy to see on camera from a distance

Notched belt. It’s also a v belt but the notched outer surface is supposed to dissipate heat better and increase life.
