seems like you're a new fan?! or not a fan at all. TWICE have their own managers from the very beginning JYP himself made that clear for such a long time now and their personal managers are the ones taking care of their schedules promotion and brand deals and extra stuff twice members get to choose how busy they want to get and JYPE has nothing to do with it the only thing that JYPE is concern about is music production anything extra is on them so if there's anybody in the group that should give them a break that's up to them they are by far the most busy kpop group in the industry and i don't blame them. so the host was right they have to sacrifice something to get breaks or do what they want but its all up to them to do so. stop making it sound like someone is enslaving TWICE members because they are smart individuals for sure they will not condone such actions.

That is something that I thought would improve with the contract renewal, I imagined that they would put more rules in their benefit, I don't know if it is because they were afraid of leaving the company or leaving and having to make decisions on their own, they are so tired and Nayeon have a point, I love them and i'll be equaly happy if them take a big break too.

At this point they are big enough that they have the power to ask the company for time off. People need to lay off JYP. They are working because they want to work. They understand how popularity is fickle and if you disappear for long enough it’s easy to be replaced. Plus haven’t you noticed the increased solo/subgroup work. That’s something they requested and negotiated for. They want it.

@@JosepManjarrez the korean translation was off on how it was relayed to the audience jihyo was not complaint but saying she had so many thing lined up for her this year. they all have personal managers in which they are the ones choosing which activities they would like to take. JYPE only role is music production and JYP himself cleared that long time ago. the girls are the ones making their schedules brand deals and promotion solo deals JYPE had nothing to do with it so if theres anyone to blame because they are so busy that's on them.

don't really understand why jyp hasn't given them a year long break. they've already left behind a legacy that will be remembered for generations and brought a lot of income in for the company and themselves. if it's something ALL 9 of them are actively asking for, then sure. but it seems they themselves are getting tired :/ most of their 3rd gen peers have taken long-term breaks (hell, some have full on disbanded) so i don't see why they can't or shouldn't. if the fans are real fans, they'll still be here no matter what.

Yes they are popular but a year off is risky no matter how big. Just look at what happens to boy groups after military service. It’s very hard to get back to the same level of popularity. Twice understands this and wants to work. That’s why they are all starting to branch into solo work. They have the urge to do more and push their name further along. Yeah they are tired but that’s everyone with a job. Just like how students always complain about school but it’s not that they actually want to leave their studies. People need to lay off the company. Twice is big enough that if taking time off was truly their wish it would happen

why ask JYP he has no control on the girls schedules you might want to get your facts right. JYPE is an entertainment company thus their only concern with their artist is how they can produce music. JYP made that clear that TWICE is one of the few groups in KPOP industry who has personal managers BIGBANG and 2ne1 are one of those and all 9 artist had the freedom to choose their activities outside music production. they are busy because they choose to do so. taking a break will lose them tons of brand deals and revenue. if it is ITZY then sure you could blame JYP all you want since his the manager of that group lol.

Twice have definitely made JYP 1 of the most successful companies of all time, but let's also give the fair and deserved credit to other JYP artists who have made the company super successful and made Kpop even more popular and successful worldwide like Stray Kids, GOT7, ITZY, and DAY6. As well as the older and more influential groups who first managed to break into the international markets like Rain, Wonder Girls, 2PM/2AM, Miss A, etc.

Do we know it’s a master’s? Or was it just a regular degree? I can see a degree because it only take 4 years and you can even take part time online classes in like 5 years. But a master’s you need to write papers and do lots of thesis and studies. Did Tzuyu say master’s?

I doubt they can answer this question honestly until AFTER they are done being an idol. There are a few interviews with older idols who admitted to things like starving themselves, being abused and basically even being pimped out to big studio execs and other VIPs. A current idol probably wouldn’t want to even imply any of that happens, especially with so many nutjob Kpop fans who wouldn’t believe them anyway.

That is unfortunately the entertainment industry standard. Both in the music industry and the acting/movie industry have been several cases of abuse, extortion and undesired sexual advances exposed to the public (Terry Crew's case comes to mind) in which the ones expoising yeah, they win their lawsuits but are rarely if ever seen again in a film or a discographic firm. Being honest is privilege only a few can afford because although they may be billionaires at this point of their carreers, most mega succesful people (especially in asian cultures) tend to take care of their families like parents, siblings, etc, so leaving the multi million contract early is quite scary to say the least :(

Something doesn’t add up. They’re not just a well-known, successful group; they’ve already re-signed their contract with a company that completely relies on their fame and success. Yet it still feels like they have no control. At this point, they shouldn’t be forced into anything. Taking a break and focusing on individual projects would actually benefit the group more. It would give them confidence in their own abilities and ultimately bring them back stronger as a team. I’ve always wondered-when groups re-sign their contracts, why do they still end up with so little freedom, especially when they have both the fame and the money? What exactly do they negotiate in these contracts?

TWICE is one of the unique groups in KPOP at this moment they are now on the same level of BIGBANG and 2ne1 prime career where they now have the power to say "NO, FUCK YOU" but since they are one of the most genuinely nice peoples they would never do it even if they can they are now at the point where the company's only concern is them making music the rest of their personal deals and brand promotions, solo albumbs are now up to them and their own personal managers JYP and JYPE dont have control on how busy they want to get heck even the TTT production are all up to the members on when they want to do it.

I think the company holds personal info of the members as leverage, stuff that they wouldn't really want the whole world to know about. They all literally grew up in that company under strict control. Which is why despite their fame and success, they still can't negotiate as equals. It's my own theory, but I really don't see why else they would re-sign, only to get no improvement.

@@aeivaouoi1635 I think ur theory makes sense, I just want to add that a popular successful individual without the contacts and deals, is just an individual waiting for their decline. Sure, they hold the fans and popularity, but as I understand it, the music industry is very narrow to new people or sharing their secrects with their own artists. It is not impossible, but to keep their success they would have to open their own company and start from scratch, from the staff to the building, to managing contracts, salaries, getting decent to good producers that are not already signed for life elsewhere, as much money as the collectively hace in theory, I think it would barely cover for one or two years of independency (if they want to keep being musicians and not just retire)

If you're not aware, kpop idols are in debt with the company at the start of their career. The company invests millions in training and any extra debut fees. So even if they don't make it, they're in debt and have to pay back the company. Majority of the times, they can receive their first good paycheck after years of hard work.
