No I honestly don’t believe this team will take the cup . I DO WISH THEY WOULD!!! The USA team played in the first half with guts,bravery.skill! BUT fell apart in the 2nd period.they played just like a Vlatco team . The USA team is still not out of the woods ! It’s going to take time before this team is rebuilt.

Yes, but it will be a fight! Both Mexico and Brazil are fabulous teams that play extremely well. I would love to see us beat Canada and then face Brazil. Brazil is playing with the style and beauty of the Brazilian men’s teams we grew to love years ago. If we face Mexico again, I fear the stadium will be packed with Mexican fans and it will be a home match for them. That would be a real knockdown drag out fight!

When we play like Caribbean or CONMEBOL teams who are known for the incessant fouling and badgering and bullying refs into calling the game for them, we need to be more proactive with the referee from the start of the game. IMO, this HAS to come from the Captain. The notion that Colombia was only booked once more and that they only committed one more foul than us is beyond laughable. WTF, I don’t know if i have seen a more blatant foul committed that was ignored in a match than that of the one on Smith ion the closing minutes when the one Colombian lunged into her from behind stepping on her and taking her legs out while a second Colombian for seemingly no purpose comes off the top rope and super fly jimmy Snooka’s Smith across her back and face and then lands on top of her….HOW IN THE WORLD IS THAT NOT A FOUL, MOREOVER HOW IN THE WORLD were both medical teams allowed on the field but none of the players had to leave the field after receiving treatment… Im sorry, i don’t want to sound like a chauvinist because i do believe that more than qualified female referees exist in the world, but these refs in this tournament for the most part have been BEYOND horrendous. If you’re going to make a big deal out of it always being a female crew at the beginning of each game, then the conclusion that people will logically draw is that it clearly is a mistake because over 75% of these crews have been almost inconceivably bad. Either FIND GOOOOOOOD FEMALE REFEREES…THEY EXIST. OR USE MALE OR NB OR GENDER FLUID refs if that makes people feel better, but these current referees (which happen to be female) are freaking terrible. How does Morgan get a yellow for that exchange by goal in the 15th when the Colombian is going bat crazy in her face just as much as Morgan is in hers PLUS she goes ballistic on the referee also. These refs were bullied into letting the Colombians do whatever they wanted on the field, if that was my team i would have seriously considered sending in a player to take a red card in around the 75th minute to prevent all of the shenanigans that had started building and that carried through the rest of that game. They could have seriously injured one or more than one of our players, if the referee refuses to address the problem, then we have to address the problem ourselves. I appreciated Rodman’s feistiness, but our captain or leaders need to boss the ref just like the other side is to avoid this crap from happening because the same crap happens with Brazil EVERY time we play them. Teams are getting too good to be able to just kick and pull us down with near impunity. WE HAVE TO GET IT TO STOP, PLAYING NICE HASNT WORKED, WE NEED TO FIGURE OUT A SOLUTION.

Will need to have a better game plan against Canada, Col made a lot of dumb mistakes that Canada won’t. Passing wasn’t really there this game, had to rely on counters and athleticism rather than creativity.

I agree. Our press worked, other than that, we had little connectivity and our midfield lost connection to our backline multiple times. Our midfielders love to attack - but our lines get too spread out. We need midfielders that can control possession - not just attack.

Coffey has definitely not plateaued at Portland. She had the most assists in the league last season. 8 I believe. There is no need to go to Europe or anywhere else. Just my opinion!

Congratulations for this win miss Twila Kilgore!👍 Great job coaching staff! You have prepared them well. I’ve noticed they keep passing the ball until red zone before they shoot it to goal, the behaviors that I haven’t seen too often before. Shooting long distance and successful, this team is still far from mastering!!! So, one of the reasons to win today was strategy to PASS THE BALL IN FRONT THE GOAL FOR EASIER TO SCORE!!! 👍👍👍👍👍⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️ Nighswonger’s shot and scored was a techbook lesson for the team to emulate for sure! Horan’s PK couldn’t be any better ! Shaw has finished well and commendable. If the other ball she shot came in , it would be the talk of the town about her from now on. It was powerful and lethal, too bad, it’s off by a hair! The Columbia girls were the pain on the neck for everyone to see. So was the referee who has catered to their liking every time and turn and not penalizing equal to their fouls. It’s travesty!!! The USSF should complain about it for future game sake!!! Keep building on from this game ladies. Canada will be next, we should pass them with ease, won’t we??? Go team USA!!🌹💖⚽️👍👍🇺🇸

LOVE THE WOMENS GAME . The USA team is far from fit. These other teams came in strong and running. BUT SORRY I don’t think this team will take the cup. Women’s soccer is falling behind European and other countries around the world. IT HAPPENED SO FAST WE JUST DIDN’T SEE IT COMING. Remember (football is there game) They are applying men’s soccer training techniques to their women. We just can’t match these experienced techniques . We don’t have their level of experience! Hence all the coaches coming from other countries will help

I expect Canada will win. They have a significantly stronger offense, especially if the U.S. continues to count on players who don’t score and can’t pass. The U.S. has been weak on offense for a long time, but they keep falling back on the same players. Morgan had a great career, but it’s past time to retire. Rodman never was and never will be an international level player.
