Ordon village has always been the most calming place in the game, and every time I replay Twilight Princess I lollygag in the early beginning game segment because I know that once it's done that atmosphere won't ever quite be back. Link turns from an innocent kid who works as a ranch hand and wrestles goats to being thrust into a world-ending conflict. After the story really starts, Ordon to me feels not only calming but unbearably sad. It's a remnant of that first glimpse of Link that you never get back.

I understand that feeling. At the same time, I don't agree. I feel that once you reach the end of the game, and beat ganondorf. You truly feel like you can just spend time in the village once more. Replaying the game, I always spend my last moments up to the end of the game just taking in the air of the village, and Link's yard. Once the parents learn that the children are safe, and everything else is done, you can just stay in the village for as long as you want. Play with the scarecrow, talk to the people and animals, fish, swim, jump, look around. the music makes me feel like Ordon is home. I just wish that there was a separate mode post-game where you could just stay in the village, and live the simple, comforting life, of the Ordonna province.

@tgshotoftcr2256 this is a beautiful take, and I think I have changed enough in the past few years to agree now. There is no need to be sad about the past having passed, we should be grateful for the happiness it brings us and be able to revisit it without regret. And thank you for bringing me back to this wonderful video 2 years later

I remember playing TP alone as a kid, and just running around, swimming, talking to the village characters, and using the chickens to fly everywhere. I'd put off starting the actual story for as long as I could because once it starts, this place becomes more bittersweet than carefree. Literally the best place ever in the best game ever

Ahh the feelings, this is my favorite place in Twilight Princess
@tgshotoftcr22562 ай бұрын
Twilight Princess was my first zelda game, and the first game I ever played. As a child, I would feel at ease in the village, laughing, running and rolling around, grabbing cuccoos, climbing the tree, calling the hawk, and exploring the village. It was the first time I had been immersed in an entirely new world. And it was peaceful. I remember solving those few puzzles without my dad's help. It was a learning experience, but it was something far different from anything else. Like easing in to new feet, or a new life. It was my favorite thing to do. The fishing minigame was tough though, it took me so long to get it right. But I guess it makes sense. As a kid, I had to learn patience, just like real fishing. As I grew up, the game grew alongside me. As I went through the main adventure, I started to forget that Ordon existed. I was so enamored by the game, and the exhilaration of being an adventurer. But when I replayed the game, I was reminded of the little village. And when I grew up, I would keep coming back here, just to wander around, and listen to the music. Because of Twilight Princess, I not only found some of the best parts of myself, but I found a sort-of home. It was the first thing I was exposed to, and the first time I could truly explore a world without any fear or hardship. Ordon will always hold a special place in my heart. As one of the most memorable beginnings of any video game, and as my second home.

A lot of people dislike the opening to this game But I could honestly play a whole game with the vibe of the Twilight Princess opening
@traviscunningham70629 ай бұрын
I love the opening. It’s not too fast paced like Ocarina of Time, or not too painfully slow like Skyward Sword. It’s pacing was the perfect way to introduce you to the many mechanics of the game like horse riding, using your slingshot and combat, and fishing.
@tgshotoftcr22562 ай бұрын
@@traviscunningham7062 oh gosh the fishing.... I agree, its a very memorable and perfect introduction to a game. Just enough to teach completies newbies, but not too slow or drawn-out to be discouraging to people who are familiar with games. A lot of people who replay the game hate it, or want a way to skip it for re-playthroughs, but it's still amazing nonetheless.

I always loved the beginning of the game, I always wanted a game that was just that, no big over arcing deep storyline, just a person living in a small village helping everyone out with random everyday tasks, with graphics like that, and like the same style visually. I wish there were more of those, time to make my own game.

Just a little lake or small lazy river to watch the sunset and sunrise. (fishing hole doesn't count, its surrounded by rock walls and has a completely different atmosphere to it)

Ordon village and all of twilight princess' hyrule was very beautiful. It pains me that there was an opportunity to have a sequel to TP but instead good old shiggy told the dev team to make a crossbow shooter instead.
@traviscunningham7062 Жыл бұрын
The crossbow shooter game should have been dlc for this game.
@tgshotoftcr22562 ай бұрын
@@traviscunningham7062 agreed I think Crossbow Training is really good though. I wish it was expanded upon more, since it kind of gives us an idea of what happened AFTER the events of Twilight Princess. In a way. It would have been cool to see Lord Bulbo come back, since he grew to respect link, even though he was a monster. The game needs a LOT of adjustments to be replayable, but I think it could have made excellent dlc for the game, or a part/minigame of a sequel.

I love this village. The entire game brings me so much comfort, despite also being one of the darkest, more serious Zelda games. If this game got a remake, I would cry. Same artstyle, but with more realism and new equipment or other content, and I would 100% buy it and pre-order. I don't even have any Nintendo consoles, but I would buy one just for that.
@tgshotoftcr22562 ай бұрын
Same. If there is a way, I want someone to make that, Someone. Not for fame, not for money, but just so that people can enjoy the game that they love, (me included) and see a little more of this world, this story, and this adventure. Maybe someone will make it one day. I can hold onto hope.
