During my time in middle school (I think it's middle school? I'm Belgian so my school system is rather different), students would get checked up on lice every year. All the students. The school would even reach out to some moms who'd come help check all the students' heads. One year, all the students even got special combs you could use to comb out lice.

Back in my catholic elementary/middle school, they had blessings of the throat every year. Now in my current catholic high school, its optional to go to the blessings of throats. Don't think any of my schools did lice checks

Yeah I went to a pretty ratchet high school in Vegas and we got lice checked

We had some kids in my school who gave everyone lice every year, so yeah we got checked every year as well. Though we all just kind of resigned our fate to lice kids
