Twin Cities unloaded 30 PCCs to Newark, where they ran for another 50 years. Handsome, durable, iconic. Part of my boyhood.

find the story fascinating. Discontinued a decade before I was born. My father was a conductor during the depression. Hard to imagine a time before cars, where you either walked or biked or didn't go anywhere. My understanding this was a private enterprise/company, not a government entity? Self-contained, profitable (until mismanaged - think Sears), streetcars built here, not imported from Europe, self-powered (own power plants?), when our population was 1/10th our current population.

Coughing and snotting into the mic is beyond annoying.
