It's not literally seeing the notes, but music is relative. If you're signing one note, the next note will be higher or lower maybe by a third or a fifth and moving your hand up and a down the same amount helps to hit the notes. It's like when you tap your foot to the beat to stay in time.

I am so surprised when I watch people react to her and Arijit because they seemed to never have heard such intricate melodies. And in, Indian Culture, Playback singers are as famous as a beyonce, Ed sheeran, etc. cuz Indian people get 95% of their music from INIDAN FILMS, and playback singers are the people that sing the songs in these films since most actors don't sing. Check out his duet with the Nightingale of India Lata Mangeshkar, 'Aapki Aankhon Mein', but if you liked Shreya please please listen to Lata Mangeshkar. Actually what she said is . 5th level of basic pitch of an instrument . Classically trained Indian musicians actually has great control over their voice because the had been trained to keep the pitch precise . With an instrument . Like if in western do has just two to three frequency in classical music it's 5 to 7 . That is greater .
