The scene with Lynch and Denise was hilarious; her admonishing him about his super-hot co-agent, him reminding her that he supported her transitioning.... I get the distinct feeling this scene is speaking directly to the SJW youth who'd want to give him shit about his casting choice where Agent Hip-Roll Struts and all the ogling done of her is concerned; him basically saying "Hey guys, remember when I put the first trans person on TV? Lay off! I'm fricken 70 here!"

I can't wait to see Diane in episode 5 (she's already confirmed to be in it). But I felt the whole scene with Wally was just embarrassing, as soon as I saw Cera I fast forwarded through the scene, then thought it was unfair. I went back and watched it and cringed through most of it. I think that the garmonbozia loss and both cooper's memory loss as well as Doppledale's voice are all linked. It would be kind of bizarre but it's possible that the body that was found with the head is Briggs. I also found it interesting that a lot of people are just skipping over how important it was when Cole said "he didn't great me properly, if you catch my meaning" with the fbi that usually means they have an identity confirmation code, and Dopplecoop didn't know what it was so he had no way to properly respond.

The lower body that was found in the bed had military fingerprints and would sort of fit with the fact that it was only Major Briggs' head floating through space. It's definitely Briggs imo, my only question to that theory being why hadn't the body completely decomposed into a skeleton by this point, unless evil Cooper didn't actually kill Briggs right away

Thanks Pete for your presentation. There have been four FBI agents that have disappeared connected to the Black Lodge. Dale Cooper, Chester Desmond, Phillip Jeffries and Windom Earl. Does anybody have any insights into where they might be? are their souls trapped in the Black Lodge while their dopplegangers are out on violent sprees? Will any of their characters be shown? Would make for a more mysterious, terrifying story.

The whole family reunion scene looked pretty awkward to me , Wally was talking in an unnatural way and the sheriff didn't look at all pleased to see him.

I still think "Wally" is Dick Tremaine's son and not Andy's (though that's just because I really enjoyed Dick Tremaine.) The one thing I took away from the Wally scene was his mention of Lewis & Clark. I think what he said has more to do with the mystery/mysteries than it at first seems. I believe there is probably a LOT more going on in that scene than there seems, thugh I don't claim to understand it by any means. The Lewis & Clark connection comes via 'The Secret History of Twin Peaks' book by Mark Frost

God i love speculating about the new season. I am almost quite certain at this point Coop won't ever be himself in this new series as its going to be a battle of piecing things together (that's just what i think anyway). I doubt Audrey is the one they are referring to which almost makes me wonder if we are actually going to see Dianne in this. In addition i love the scene with Gordon outside the diner where the filter is blue as they are talking about Blue Rose. It's very reminiscent of the FWWM scene where it's first mentioned. There's also an own cookie jar in Mr.Jackpots's house which is the second owl reference in the same episode.

I, too, love that we can discuss Season 3 with each other- and I do mean "discuss". Most message boards are full of people who are sure their opinion is the only correct one and everyone else is an idiot (ever see a discussion on Prometheus or, more recently, Alien: Covenant?), but with Lynch fans there cis no way for people to behave that way because none of us truly know. That said, I don't believe Lynch will show us Diane. Not after all these years keeping her mysterious. So many people suspect Laura Dern will play Diane, but i thing Laura Dern is like Meg Foster and Ashley Judd- a big name to make us all think "oh, THIS will be important later!" only to have her hand coop a cup of coins or just play a secretary. What are the chances I'm right? Well, abut the same as any other theory on any other aspect of the show, and that's what is so great about Twin Peaks.

There was a scene cut from Fire Walk With Me where Lucy was scared by Sheriff Truman while she thought she was talking to him while he was in the Interrogation room over the intercom. Apparently getting scared like that is just a Lucy thing lol.

That was my favourite episode of the Return so far mainly because of the conversation with evil Cooper. It was really chilly. Well written and played magnificently. I hope it's Diane. It cannot be anyone living in Twin Peaks because in that case Gordon and Albert would just go there and pick the woman in question from her house. The other match is Audrey. We don't know where she lives but what she really had to do with Cooper? It could be Annie but we know that Heather Graham is not coming back. So I hope it's Diane, the only woman who had lasting, (sort of) deep and long enough (sort of) relathionship with Cooper. Some people said it's Sarah Palmer but 1. we know where she lives, 2. again what she had to do with Cooper (or maybe is she able to see Bob in Cooper?, but again what Albert and Gordon knows about Bob). Thanks for your movies, I subscribed that list or something like that.

Yeah, the theory is that Sarah Palmer might be able to see Bob. I'm sure she will play a role as well as Audrey at some point, but I am still leaning towards a Diane reveal.

Pete Peppers Against Diane's theory speaks the fact that they have Cooper's fingerprints. What else do they need to identify him? And they themselves see that there's something wrong with him. In real world they would assume that he's gone mad. In Twin Peaks I don't know how much do they know or suspect. Maybe they really need Sarah. But introduction of Diane would be really fascinating.

Sarah Palmer's ability to see Bob as a relevant dynamic to the season would explain that scene of her watching that gory and brutal wildlife programme , it is relaxing to her compared to seeing/remembering Bob but at the same time keeps her senses open to seeing brutal stuff like a subconscious reminder that it may be important in the future ie helping the real Coop.

One question I have is: When did Evil Coop go off radar? HE was impersonating Agent Cooper when we last saw him. How long did he hold that pretense up? At what point did he go missing? I can't imagine he has been gone the entire 25 years. Though that IS a distinct possibility. It just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Did I miss anything in the episodes that directly states how long it has been since he was in contact with Cole (I know there was some interaction with Albert in however a roundabout way it occurred.)

I think it's odd in the final episode of the second season of the original series we see the doppleganger Cooper back in the Great Northern and smashes his head into the mirror and we see Bob's face in the mirror implying that Bob was possessing the doppleganger THEN in the scene where evil Coop is talking on the phone to someone he thinks is Phillip Jeffries and that person tells Coop he will be returning to the Black Lodge to be with Bob once again. So, that seems to imply that Evil Coop and Bob aren't the same person or that Bob isn't controlling Evil Coop now. Maybe it's just that Lynch didn't think this all out clearly ahead of time and he's making it up as he goes along.

I also think that Diane is the person who Albert is refering to when he is saying: I know where she drinks.. I don't think it is sarah Palmer cause she seem's to always be drinking by herself at home... I tghink that Diane is gonna be played by Laura Dern, she's benn with DL since almost the begining: Blue Velvet, Wild at Heart , Inland Empire -wich she did co-produced and she is a fan of meditation like David too, they have a good connection and I think is gonna give her a good part in Twin Peaks and since there has been a connection with Kyle in Blue Velvet it would be really awesome that she would be the one playing Diane... I think it would be just great and fit perfectly...

I think that evil Coop simply tries to fake good Coop's behavior and fails to do that properly. He could have been in a similar situation 25 years ago like Dougie Coop too, just not to the same extent too, and didn't get to learn how to imitate his good equivalent.

The way Evil Coop talks in the cell is somehow trying to copy how the real Cooper would talk to Gordon (as we saw 25 years ago), but he's not good at it - that's why it feels awkward to Gordon as he's now older and maybe more experienced (even though in his late years). Other thing that keeps getting on my mind that Jeffries in Fire Walk With me points at Coop saying "Who do you think that is there?" probably meaning that he could be back in time from 25 years forward to try to warn Gordon and Rosenfield about Evil Coop, but due to him being in and out of time he doesn't do pretty good job there, but they still might remember it at some point later in the series (since Jeffries is being mentioned frequently) Regarding Diane it seems most likely, though my first bet for some reason was Audrey as I was really thinking that 'the place she drinks' would probably be the Bang Bang Bar, but now I see that I'm probably wrong.

I think that scene in the Sheriff's office kind of indicated that negative forces had increased in Twin Peaks enough for them to need the extra support and resources (which probably means the department does it's job well enough to receive more funding PR that something peculiar to Twin Peaks requires all that extra equipment). Seeing as everyone reacted to Cooper, Laura, and the Log Lady as if they'd barely been mentioned, I'd say it's just and increase in crime that isn't directly correlated to the Lodge but could be. Now the original sheriff Truman is ill, it's possible that the Bookhouse Boys no longer operates either at all, or as it once did. And now the corruption has spread from not just Twin Peaks but infiltrated the Sheriff's department - which Cooper's doppelganger illustrated metaphorically, i.e. the corruption is everywhere - even in our heroes (which makes the later black mold speech more hilarious in a way).

The backwards "Very" that Evil Cooper says to Cole when he greets him has me puzzled. I don't know why he spoke that word backwards - "It's yrev, very good..." There is a change to Evil Cooper but the nature of that change remains to be seen.

Another issue with the casino scene is that casinos can kick someone out for whatever reason they want. If they see someone winning like this (usually at blackjack) they can put a stop to it by forcing that person to leave. I'm surprised they didn't step in and stop him after winning a few jackpots. It may be a bit different with slot machines since they are rigged to only pay out at certain times but something was definitely wrong here. The casino can't accuse him of cheating (I.e. counting cards) but there is definitely something amiss here. They obviously aren't seeing it this way since they actually want "Dougie" to come back in hopes that he will eventually blow his new found winnings.

The Lucy/Cell Phone stuff is a call back to 'The Missing Pieces' (Deleted scenes from TPFWWM). The same thing happens there, though without a cell phone. I'm of the belief that this holds some significance since Lynch saw fit to bring back an elements from a deleted scene. I don't think it's just because it's funny. It has to have some other meaning and connection to the greater narrative and mysteries.

has for the behaviour of good Cooper/Doggie, I think that both of them in the same dimension is one part of the problem, in quantum physics, to have two people who normally lives each one in their own dimension then to come together creates a sort of bug.. AND also, I have explored and experlence chamanism many years ago, and what I did experience personnaly, is that when you are really out of the 3rd dimension material reality for a long time, it is normal to have sometimes great difficulty to come back and act like a normal person again for a while, and my God, he's been out of this dimension for 25 years! .. I also think that for him, it didn't felt like 25 years and when he looks at himself in the mirror, he realise just how much he have aged! Which I find very touching as a scene - ps I'm french canadian so excuse my bad english ;)

One small part of Dougie's scene in the limo not mentioned in your recap. When they finally arrive at his house, finding the red door, Dougie sees the door through the limo's window & he gets visibly spooked (a quick gasp). Does the red door trigger a memory or have some significance to how he was manufactured (red curtain as an entry / exit point)? Or does it trigger something about the Naomi Watts character / knowledge of who or what is in the house?

I think Gordon and Albert are talking about Judy. I can't think of anyone else that fits the bill. The editing of the scene would lead you to believe the "I know where she drinks" line was in reference to the ''Bang Bang Bar'' But I'm not really convinced. It's a clever editing trick to lead the audience into believing something but we've seen this tactic employed already in this series i.e. when Cole gets the call about the authorities finding Cooper - We were led to believe they were talking about the REAL Agent Cooper (Dougie version) when they were in fact talking about EVIL Cooper aka Bobbleganger, Mr. C, Bob Cooper et al. It's obviously not past Lynch to misdirect.

My other guess would be Audrey, but that's a long shot as far as I'm concerned. i also feel Diane is unlikely as she was never formally introduced and part of her characterization is her presence on the show while never being physically present. Last guess and one that connects to all the weirdness? Annie. But, from what I've heard, I don't believe Heather Graham is on the show. I think, truly, whoever the character is it's goin g to be played by Laura Dern. From all I've read it seems she has an important role in this new series and has not been introduced yet. The question still remains - Who is she playing?

I think it's Major Briggs' body, he just didn't die in a fire 25 years ago. It would make sense with the character. Also, it would make sense that he "disapeared" at the same time as Coop.

I don't see how the casino thing is not realistic. I mean they could have been checking the machines and not showing us. he is not cheating obviously so they can't really stop him for being lucky.

It's so far beyond the normal probability it would have made them think he was cheating. A casino can ask anyone to leave their private property at any time, even if they only suspect something isn't right. An example is card counting in black jack. Technically it's not against the rules, but if they know you are doing it they will ask you to leave and possibly ban you from playing there for life. Slot machines are calibrated to pay out a certain percentage of what they take in. It seems random in the short term but over a large sample such as ten million spins, the casino will take in exactly that much profit. If the machines malfunction it undermines their entire business model. So if one person is walking from one machine to the next hitting the top payout on each spin they would look for reasons not to pay that person.

Pete Peppers I don't know how this works in the USA but here people can win so many jackpots in a row and the casino has no right to kick them out. Blackjack is different obviously. I've witnessed people doing that by occupying every machine and holding down the lever with a piece of paper. Yes they do spend more money than Cooper but the coins were dropping like rain and they had buckets filled just like him. So this scene seemed very realistic to me from what I've seen in real life.
