That Sonny Jim theory is a huge stretch, and also just impossible. Mr. C's raping of Diane took place at least 20 years or more prior to the events of The Return; while Sonny Jim was not even 10 years old. And I just don't see how any child of Mr. C's would be even remotely that good-natured, regardless of environment. Ben Horne even said Richard "was never right" even as a boy.

If Sonny Jim was born from the rape, he would be older. Like Richards age. Also Sonny Jim looks nothing like Diane or Cooper. Sonny Jim has a very different skin tone.

David Lynch/Twin peaks apologists will never admit this but Dougie was the downfall of Season 3. He ruined it. It lacked creativity and was a cheap attempt at art/comedy/audience anticipation by Lynch. This is why S3 was mostly garbage and the worst of DL Twin Peaks. I am not afraid to admit it. You can still like and respect Lynch's other work while acknowledging the crap of the Dougie character and story line.
