An LS with a injector removed would destroy this.

From the factory the 4.6 was under powered! This is how it should of been ! Great job!!🙂👍

Hi i have just got a p38 4.0 in your opinion would a svr engine go in one of these. i really think it would be a a beast and quite a bit if fun with that running gear in the p38

Thousands in parts and hundreds in hours. We will offer such conversions for our customers however its a bridge too far for many unless the desire for incredibly drivability from a P38 or other Rover V8 powered vehicle is truly desired. For many though there are upgrades to the naturally aspirated engines that will improve things.

Happy to see it done Ian. It has been a pleasure communicating with you over what is now years. My 4.2 Liter rover runs as good as it possibly can. I still have not installed my larger valved heads. But I won't be keeping up with your twin turbo any time soon. Great job!

Great results, I will likely do the same but with a single turbo and dedicated petrol. One thing I think you missed when you spoke about the walbro pump and pressure reg was injectors? Are you running the stock ones or upgraded? And is the AFM from m62 or later n62 4.4?
@ianthurtell1342
@ianthurtell1342 2 жыл бұрын
I mention the injectors at one point. They are a 12 point injectors which handled the additional pressure far nicer than the stock ones but they did need the loom modifying to fit. Of your going to carry a conversion like this or any other kind of custom setup my advice to you would be research and learn as much as you can about everything you are changing. Also key point is talk with the guy doing your tuning. If your in the UK you can discuss with us or mark at tornado but basically the ecu setup is going to govern the map, injectors, fuel pressure etc that you can run

The dyno figures prior to turbocharging seem curious; 240bhp/255ftlbs. We're the quoted factory figures of c.220/277 or 300ftlbs for Thor, rather inaccurate?

Factory the 4552cc 4.6 is 218PS and 4.0 is 185PS so that is odd.

Yes where the spare wheel normally would be. Plan is to make a rear bumper with a swing arm for the spare (If I ever find the time)

"Picks up like Don Juan in a brothel!" I know you've maintained all along it's NOT about the BHP but I reckon you should do a Run What You Bring at Santa Pod! I had to get rid of my P38 4.6 years ago and miss it like mad but just the road tax for one here in Ireland is €1805/year! Before it went I did manage a RWYB and got a best of 18.05 seconds at 76mph. It certainly wouldn't set the world on fire but I had a great day out. Also, have you tried it in Sport Mode yet? Sad to see the end of this series looking forward to the next project.

Yes sport mode just as fun and will play a bit more between the two but knowing peak torque is better a little lower down than 5500 rpm means might be better on the 1/4 mile etc in normal mode. But I'll play on the day

@@MuNGusTik Yes this is all explained in the video series. Several people have gone down the supercharger route however I wanted to do twin turbos as I didn't want the engine driving a blower along with a few other reasons.
