For 他对女儿说“你好” I think we could also hear 他跟女儿说“你好” where 跟 is used instead of 对. When used with 说 I think this is a very colloquial usage of 跟 with the meaning of "to". I had trouble getting used to this, because otherwise 跟 means "with" (or "follow"). So 跟我说 means "talk **to** me". But 跟我读 means "read **with** me".

You saved me again! My app explains "dui" like this: "Pair", used to emphasize the object of the action, should come before the verb.

This use of dui is perhaps one the most difficult things to learn. The prepositions that it represents in either English or Spanish are so divergent that it just makes it very hard to assimilate. How do you say A is very useful and satisfying to B
@ignitemoment
@ignitemoment 5 ай бұрын
satisfying is a verb-ing, so it's A's impact on B. we say A使(or让)B(感到)满意

Isn’t 有兴趣 a verb + noun?
@ChineseGrammarSimplified
@ChineseGrammarSimplified 8 ай бұрын
Just like the word 有意思, although the actual composition is 有 (verb) + 意思 (noun), it is much easier and practical to remember it as a whole to mean “interesting” (adjective). Similarly, I think the word 有兴趣 would be much easier to use for the native English speakers if it is remembered as a whole to mean “interested”(adjective) in the pattern introduced in the video.
