Thank you for letting us watch the progress. Seeing it helps it make sense far better than reading about it in books.

The technique reminds me of an I-cord edge in knitting. Very nice finish.

Interesting. An i-cord edge is basically a tube and this is definitely flat, but it does have a similar look. Thanks for watching.

Very Nice blanket. One day I hope to be able to do a doubleweave blanket. BTW, Looks like we have the same taste in bedroom furniture. I have the same bedroom set.

Thank you so much. You can do doubleweave! Start with something smaller so you understand the weave structure and the pitfalls. I highly recommend Jennifer Moore's book "Doubleweave, Revised and Expanded". Thanks for watching!

Congrats on a beautiful blanket. Huge ! I just wove a double width and open it 64 inches by 8 feet. I used Briggs and Little. Have 2 more to weave. One for each of my kids family. Been on my list to long. I did twist the fringe. Took forever it seemed. I hope holds up. Because heavy worsted weight I did use ski shuttles. Worked great. Still have to wet finish. I will probably do so in the sink. Not brave to use the machine.

Oh wow! What a great gift for your kid's family. Twisting fringe takes a long time. I joke that finishing a handwoven item takes just as long as weaving it! I like the ski shuttle idea ~ I think I need to get a couple of those. If you have an old fashioned washer that doesn't lock (like I do) you could fill it up and just soak the blanket in there. More room and you can use the machine to spin the water out. I do take mine out while the machine is filling though just to be safe. Thanks for watching!

The loom is 54" weaving width. I warped for 2 layers 50" wide in the reed so 100" after opening. Thanks for watching.

What page in Peter's book is this twining technique discussed. I really like the look you obtained and would like to incorporate it in my own weaving. 😊
