Then Howard University needs to do the right thing and give the credentials she deserve don't you think? Anybody can work and be trained at a University.... students does this all the time. Imagine doing the work at the University but the college never prepare you for what is for you in the future so you can be the great icon that you was promised. We just don't keep it real when trying to give the person the tools they would need in the future... She is already multi talented but having the validated credentials will make her the bigger giant that she is.. unstoppable, think about it.... This is constructive criticism

Joseph Johnson I get what you’re saying 100% but isn’t it also fair to say that some people’s works and/or proven track records as in the case of Twinkie, supersedes the need to have credentials validated by a piece of paper. I think In many cases the honorary doctorate is really just a formality. In this case specifically, with or without the doctorate she is and will co ti ie to be Legend 🤷🏾‍♂️

Yes, in many cases in which I'm sure you have already witnessed people that have extraordinary talent is a gift from God in my opinion is validated. But I'm sure you know the education system is systematically put together to help individuals to achieve those credentials by providing documentation so that the person would not have to be challenged by critics that may have felt they work hard to academically achieve something great who may not have such talent. (It was not always have been a great system for blacks, you know that by understanding how the system was organized in the past). I can share with you my experience of how I obtain my doctorate degree was not a easy task based upon what is considered a normal form of credentials. so i had to work very hard burning that midnight oil to prove that I was able to be academically compatible and obtain the knowledge that would be recognized in every University and Colleges around the world. I believe Twinkie is exceptional to the rule of thump but I believe she would take the extra step to obtain and earned the degree will go even further in her career to get recognized in the academia world in which she deserves.

Awesome!!! However, we as people of color should never frocked someone a doctorates of honor award without showing any academic achievement from a credited College or University in their area of research studies.. Why? because in general, the awarded lifetime achievement degree is not recognized by the Academia community as having the same stature as a corresponding earned Doctorates degree. The degree given is considered to be an lifetime achievement award and not a honor educational earned degree, it is considered to be a misleading title and that a recipient of an given honorary doctorate by any organization should restrict the use of the title Dr. or the person themselves should never considered themselves to be a Doctor of any profession without showing academic proof of the degree given. If a person wants to fall in the same legacy of a person who have academically earned their degree, then the same requirements should apply to the person receiving the legacy award as honorable.

I'm not talking about her accomplishments, what I'm talking about is a honor of a doctorate degree. It's as simple as given out a associate, bachelor or master degree to someone who have never study on their subject of interest. You will never see any degree given to a person without completing the requirements of an academic studies. I know without any doubt that Sis Clark earns a high recognition for her accomplishments for revolutionizing gospel music to another level and many artists have done that. I want people to know a honorary doctor degree is not to be taken for granted just by giving it to anyone. There are many people in this world who have study hard in burning the midnight oil to achieve this highly rewarded accomplishment in their field of studies and they have their transcripts to proof it . If what you're saying is the case is believe to be creditable, then anyone in the world can receive a doctorate from any institution without the requirement of academic studies which mean any person can go around saying they are a doctor and believe me there are plenty of people in this world doing that.
