How do you map outside? I lined the edges of my house, but it's too big to fit in one picture and when I step back too far, I lose wifi.

Looks great. Using the curtains along the fence would be another great option depending upon height. Did you need to do anything different with wifi/router. I've set up about 3000 lights this year and want to add more...but worried about good connection

I had thought of the curtains but they were a little taller than I needed - and would have been way more expensive than I was willing to spend at the time! As for wifi, I already have an outdoor access point so my wireless connection is fine out there. I have a Ubiquiti system with multiple access points including an outdoor one.

I also purchased the 13ft light tree. Were you able to use all the poles that came with the twinkly tree. I wasn’t able to use all the pipes. I had to leave one out.

How do you align all those Twinkly curtains in the right order so they are in sync.? What you took the first to the left and moved it to the right side. Will that not screw up the sync?

Once I added all the sections onto the fence I mapped them all at once via an upstairs window to be able to get the entire length of the fence. A single mapping is all it took and it worked pretty well!

Do you live where you get snow? I bought a set for around my roof, and another for a natural tree, but looking for this type for front of my house but I live in Montreal and think bottom would be covered in snow by the time I would have to take it down. Might look to build it 3 feet of the ground (maybe I can get more poles from twinkly..)

Yes, it could potentially snow for me - hadn't really thought of that though! If you wanted to build it "higher " I think the only way you could do so is to add to the end of the straps that come down from the top and add a few more poles into the mix so the bottom row of lights isn't inches from the ground. But even if you were to do that, the straps would still be staked into the ground and under the snow.

Is the power plug that goes into the wall actually waterproof and can it sit there in the open? I have to use an extension power cable from the house to the lights and it connects in the open without rainprotection

It technically is waterproof - I have it sitting out exposed. However I have seen some people place it into an extension cord safety cover to give it some protection from the elements.

Is the pole tree strong enough to add more lights to it? Say a strand or two of 400 RGBWs?

I think you could, however you might want to somehow support the pole in the middle a little more - the pole itself seems sturdy, however after the wind blows it around a bit the hole you drive the pole into gets wider and the pole gets wobbly. At that point you're relying on the straps from the top to the stakes in the ground to provide the support so it doesn't tip over.

In this video I have 2 600 light sets on the fence - I eventually added more to fit the entirety of the fence between the side and the shed. I used another 600 set for the end, needed a 100 light set for the gate (in hindsight I should have just started the 600 light set on the gate but at that point I didn't know I was going to want to do the entire length), and a 250 light set between the gate and the shed. Long story short - 3x 600 lights, 1x 100 lights, 1x 250 light but probably could have omitted the 100 lights if I started out properly.

In this video the fence is 2 sets of 600. I've since added another 600 and a 250 (for the other side of a gate)
