Agreed. The whole thing has such an aggressive sound, and Kiss of Death is track 1, so you're not even eased into the album-- Rapid-fire riffage to the face from frame 0. That solo is so BONKERS too! It all makes sense, but it all comes from nowhere. I'm sure it's been said already as well, that this song is about the AIDS epidemic which was still in its early stages of being talked about publicly as a health crisis. One of the FIRST songs of any kind about it, in fact. It would be some years before artists would start talking openly about the problem to try and spread awareness. A properly shocking musical sound and message to kick off an album with.

Saw Dokken in 1995 on their reunion tour for their album Dysfunctional. I was right up against the stage dead center. They sounded incredible. I was 13 when they broke up, so I didn't get to see them til I was 20. Then I saw them again in 2017 but Don's voice wasn't what it was, but better than I had expected. I saw George Lynch with his band Lynch Mob in 2015 and they were great too.

And its sound aged much better than the more successful Under Lock and Key. ULaK was groundbreaking. I think Unchain the Night, Lightning Strikes Again and It's Not Love are better than every song on Back for the Attack, but if I only could keep one album, it'd be BftA.

Given your song selections thus far, I highly recommend you check out Rainbow, Metal Church (the self titled album is maybe the BEST album for driving at night down that curvy road) , Captain beyond (old school) , Megadeth, Anthrax, SOD, and a current band I have found that has the old 70-80's rock sound "Girish and the Chronicles" are really amazing me.
