This is great! I actually got to play with him on the same team men's hardball league. He is a very devoted player. He hardly pitches and mostly plays third. Watched him almost pull an assisted triple play. He also gave me batting practice and lots of good advice and I am proud to have met the man. I was a Braves fan so I did not know much about him during this era. He is well respected in RI/MA

I absolutely love listening to Ned Martin. He loved baseball and the Red Sox so much! That love comes through in his play-by-play. I wish there were more Martin/Woods radio games available from the latter half of the ‘70’s. No matter … this thrilling game from ‘86 was a treat! Thank you!

Who could have foreseen in September, 1986 that the Twins would be World Champions in October, 1987?

53:39 Came looking to see if Miller was still manager he was and wow intrigued as this was not an error (FC, force still in effect) wonder if someone went "behind Rays back" to straighten things out. Worth noting Kelly 3B coach #41 and was Ray's number in BAL. Dick Such nowhere to be found during this time and the play where Gaetti airmailed was to avoid Baylor. Twins got to have the Baylor experience next year❤. Twins also in their 86 yearbook with Bert apologizing for year's performance made it seem Miller was locked in a closet around this time until end of season (they finished above .500 starting now) and would lead the wave for 87. Great vid.

The Sox had a great team that year. They should have won the World Series in '86.

Can't help but think I am literally part of history as the WP story of Miller's firing references a "deciding factor" listing a super low attendance last home game not equaled since 6/4/84 my 9th bday AND the buffoonery during the Miller era as showing a P Fotentot with a PA (likely caused whole AL stat people fits where team was charged as at time no moron would allow a P to bat and the fallout of having to include full batting info for AL P's when DH was introduced😮😮😮❤)

I hate to answer these questions myself but it’s worth the shot..you won’t happen to have the third game of this series (next day) I s the only time I attended a game at Fenway..I’d be happy to pay you or trade game for game (see my game uploads on my KZbin page..have them on Blu-ray’s or DVD 👌
