Support for TUG. Andrew your view of the way the Times printed the messages may be a reflection of a blind spot that you may have as a former journalist. When I read the word "graphic" in a newspaper article about SA, all I think about is that is is a content warning. A trigger warning if you like. A message from the paper that the contents may be distressing to some readers. I suspect TUG would read the word with the same meaning. Given the Times reputation, it wants us to assume it's contents are factual and accurate. In that case there is NO room for a mock up fake document of that type being published. To do so is to publish fake news (trump language) or misinformation (WEF globalist agenda) The Times should simply have published a transcript of the messsages exchanged, clearly indicating where parts are edited or omitted. Or published a photograph of the messages and identified what the photo is, when it was taken and who provided it to them. Then readers would be able to assess the credibility of the material themselves without the times forcing its conclusion on the readers.

I am also a huge RB fan! He has been openly admitting openly about his sex addiction, struggle about his drug addiction. I think he realizes that he had a hard life before, and to make good with everything that he’s done in the past I think most of the women gave consent. Some of these videos that are out now by the media have women in the shadows you don’t know if they’re real women young women, old women we have no idea it could all be just a plot to shut him down. Why do you think the women gave consent? How do you know? The women are being kept anonymous in the public eye for their safety, as can you imagine the kind of abuse and threats they would be facing now if their identities were known? People need to consider the type of centre Brand attended for "sexaddiction" treatment. It's documented in his book. His management insisted, otherwise he would be unable to get work. Why would that be if there were no issues with his behaviour? It was not a celebrity centre but a clinic for sexual offenders, either pre-trial/sentencing assessment or post trial treatment. Plenty of other celebrities have been treated for similar addictions and not needed to go to such clinics. So why did Brand need to be in clinic for sex offenders? Sorry, but those repeatedly questioning why some alleged victims did not go to the police are demonstrating a lack of knowledge and understanding of sexual assault and victimology. They are also in denial of the grooming and gaslighting skills of experienced perpetrators. Amplify that tenfold if the alleged subject has fame and fortune, PR and lawyers. The documentary detailed more than four events. The testimonies inferred a persistent, predatory attitude towards women and a disregard for their feelings. That is not the same as promiscuity. That is the reason Brand no longer works in Hollywood or mainstream TV. He didn't reject them. Post MeToo they couldn't risk working with him.

His eyes do glaze over. You can see it onscreen. You can see it on ordinary people if they've had too much to drink, or if they're in a certain mental state. It isn't implying anything supernatural. The scariest eyes are the ones with no light behind them. You actually can see a lot in a person's eyes. These comments didn't become a cliché because no one can relate. Now...the story is they edited a story about him not using protection when he promised he would. They edited that story to sound like he committed r@pe. They shouldn't have edited it to sound worse, but what he did was still wrong. It was manipulative and imo @busive. He did more than she consented to, which could have led to an STD or pregnancy. I don't get why we're portraying him as a victim if he did that. The Times were given the unedited texts, so there's no need to go after the accuser either.

The reason why Nadia’s accounts are no longer believable is that she either provided or approved the doctored texts as authentic, in which case she is no longer trustworthy. Andrew, remember “the banality of evil.” Boring doesn’t equal good. Also corruption all the way to tyranny and what comes with the worst is structured with as few people in the know as possible and the rest simply working in their position, knowing that if you oppose or question, you will lose your position/money. The rest are “just doing their job. Following orders.” Btw I agree about the big lesson you pointed out from that time being that people in the wrong have erected beliefs that put them in the “right” (to ameliorate guilt/justify)… another lesson to not forget is “the banality of evil.” It all was undergirded by boring, supporting bureaucracy.

The right-wing, same people who are defending Brand now, believed he was guilty because he's gay/Hollywood whatever. Jonny Depp I also didn't believe was guilty after informing myself a bit. The accusations weren't that serious either. Some marriage quarrels, not more. This guy, however, seems to have been very powerful. Almost Jimmy Saville level of power within powerful media companies, such as the BBC. I don't know a thing about Russell Brand... If I ever saw a movie he was in, I missed recognizing him. I've not watched a single video on his channel and until this "scandal" came to light, I never even knew he had a YT channel. What I do know and believe with all of me is facts and evidence IN A COURT of LAW! I want to see a criminal or civil complaint, evidence vetted by attorney's for each party, evidence submitted under The Rules of Evidence in a court of law, witness testimony UNDER OATH, a Judge to be a neutral arbiter of objections, etc., a jury of his peers to listen to all facts and evidence, then a verdict rendered based on what was presented in a court of law! I'm NOT a fan of or believer in trial by media! I'm a fan of people advocating for changes in the law if they don't like the current laws. I'd bet, without checking, the SOL has run both for a civil or criminal case....so the recourse is trial by media since it's easier and quicker to ruin someone's reputation than lobby for changes in the law! At this point, I don't care what Russell Brand did or didn't do...and I'm an f'g survivor of some serious ab#se! Russell is the one with the liability here, not the women since we don't have clear laws to prosecute for exaggerating, making up, or lying about claims of SA by women. He CANNOT defend himself as anything he says CAN and WILL be used against him if by chance these become criminal or civil claims. Now for a mention of you, Andrew...you're a good guy, fair and balanced in your reporting, and it's why I usually check to see what you report before other news sources. I disagree. I always disliked his character. There was always something disingenuous about the way he talks that makes me not trust him. Having said that, if he’s truly innocent, it is a dark day but I find it highly unlikely considering I never got the feeling he was a likable guy. The reason no one wanted to work with him in UK was because he is/was extremely rude and always pushed people’s boundaries. I would not be surprised if he is found guilty because of the red flags with boundaries and constant rule breaking type behaviour he exhibited on British media. Having said that, if he’s innocent, it is a dark day indeed that 5 different women decided to collude and make a claim against him. I hope they make it formal so thorough investigations and justice can be carried out. He was always a red flag for me but people find him entertaining for some odd reason.

I like him too but they said the same about Cosby even Savile. But there was always dodgy stories. Griffin the Canadian comedian said there was a English comedian who went after any woman that would reject his charms. It's all about this superpower that A list celebrities seem to wield when they have status. However, however, how is it only some celebrities get caught out? R Kelly, Cosby, schofield, Weinstein. Surely there would be multiple multiple a listers getting accusations for misusing their power?

It doesn't mean the content is manipulated... The edit could be a stitch of two screenshots as it seems to me that the change was from one point downwards. This makes sense because these are screenshots but there is no screen (to my knowledge) what that image's aspect ratio. The noise can be from image compression which happens automatically when an image is sent through apps like WhatsApp. Technically it is a 'manipulation' but it might not necessarily mean the content of the text was changed. The full screenshots might exist and maybe this image was made by the reporter.

@@Trish.Norman that's why it's labeled as "graphic made by" and the media outlet. They mash them together for reading convenience but that's not how they will be presented at court. Look at AH vs JD, they brought a specialist to testify for hours on the metadata of the photos, do you really think they would but so dumb to edit something in a way a KZbinr would easily spot out? If a KZbinr saw it you better believe they weren't trying to hide that specific thing lol... You need to differentiate a court of law from entertainment media. Smh

I think it is almost impossible for people who don't personally know Russell Brand to distinguish between what is the real Russell Brand the private person and Russell Brand the performer. I have heard all the allegations, but without hearing the rebuttal side of the argument it is almost impossible to form an opinion.

Just looking at the statement from "Nadia" about the SA by the painting. I know from personal experience that a taller man cannot "penitrate" a shorter person when in standing position unless the man picks up the woman and places her above him up against the wall. This would require two hands and bearing in mind she stated that her bag was keeping her stuck underneath the painting it would be impossible to lift her up. Plus if she was clothed, another set of hands or at least one hand would be needed to move clothing out the way. Even if underwear was moved aside it wouldn't stay there if not held. Im just picking apart the statement from a purely forensic point of view given the information. Im not trying to invalidate her or what she alleged happened not do i know if he's guilty as its to early to tell.

The text exchange is one long image - too long for it to be a single screen capture, since it simply wouldn't all fit on the screen. The splice is around the half-way mark. This suggests to me that it is two (or maybe three) screen grabs that have been spliced together. Nothing sinister, nothing nefarious, just a compilation of multiple screenshots that have been compiled into a single graphic. Therefore the "Graphic by..." attribution is appropriate, but largely irrelevant. That's my takeaway. I think it is also worth mentioning to our American friends that the UK press is a very different beast from the US press. The UK press does not have the first amendment and free speech protections that American media outlets have. For a UK newpaper - one of the "Big Four" Broadsheets, no less - to run with a story of this magnitude without having first scrupulously fact-checked and corroborated it is *exceedingly* unlikely. xx

The text messages are a key part in this. After researching it turns out you cant retrieve old txt's from 12 years ago. This means the woman kept the phone or a memory card with the txt's on it for twelve years. That's some cold and caculated behaviour right there.

Well now I'm more confused. If that "no means no" text came AFTER she ran out of his house (when he allegedly pushed her up against the painting and tried to do stuff) then how could the text be referencing using protection, as opposed to referencing consent for intercourse? Did I miss the time line here? She wouldn't be upset over not using a condom bc, luckily, nothing happened. But she would def be upset about if she felt that her cries about "no" to s*x were ignored. I'm confused.
