TWISTED HEADBAND Knitting Tutorial (Step by Step!)

This video covers two different headband styles with a simple and stylish twist.
The first headband style is knit in Double Stockinette Stitch, which yields a warm double-layer of stockinette stitch.
The resulting fabric is extra warm, and unlike regular stockinette stitch, it doesn’t curl!
The second headband style is a classic Fisherman’s Rib. This stitch is super stretchy and looks wonderful knit into a headband.
In this video, you'll learn how to knit these two headbands from beginning to end, including tips like how to insert a lifeline (very essential!) and how to size the headband for a perfect fit. This pattern is best for the adventurous beginner.

I just discovered your channel. I was taught to knit when I was a young girl. Never made anything more than a straight knit stitch square. I've never seen any tutorial go to the trouble to switch to a huge set of needles and huge yarn to demonstrate a stitch so it's easier to see and understand, that's so amazing! Not sure I'll do the Fisherman rib (okay, maybe eventually!) but definitely the double stockinette... I also LOVE the timestamps to refer back in the video I now have a perfect idea for a few Christmas gifts and some yarn I've had for years with good intentions that never happened...

Hi. I just wanted to say that your life saver really is a life saver - it’s saved me on a number of occasions especially with fisherman’s rib. I started using it, no issues, no need to undo so I got cocky! What a mistake! 3 lots of careful undoing later ( with a crochet hook as undoing fisherman’s rib is tricky to say the least). Needless to say I’m back using the life saver again. On the next stage of my project, I will use it on evenly spaced rows to make counting rows easier. Love your videos - you’re my go to for knitting advice! Thank you.

Love them both. Right now I am making one with the Fisherman’s Rib, but for mine, I did 5 rows of garter before starting the pattern and for the first and last 3 stitches I did garter stitch for a border, and I am doing the Fisherman's Stitch that looks the same on both sides. I'm still a new-ish knitter and daring to step outside the box and out of my normal range. Thanks for the patterns/tutorial. I feel confident after watching one of your videos that I will be just as talented at knitting someday as I am with crochet.

It took a while to finish it, as you mentioned, but I love that. I just had some issues with the first stitch every time I turned my work... Thanks for the tutorial; this video is super helpful. Recently I got back into knitting. I believe I started this sometime in early January and have been working on it since then. I have been struggling with the Stockinette stitch, would either drop a stitch or lose track of knitting or purling. I would end up taking everything apart. The suggestion that you made to make a Lifeline is a good idea.

I made the double stockinette headband and I love it! Thank you so much! Sadly I understood wrong the number of cast on stiches so it came out a bit slim but that's not a problem at al. My problem is that it's never tight enough >.< I made it way too big at first, so I made it smaller and smaller but it never seems to be tight enough to stay on my head without any adjustment for a long time
