I wish the lights came with a gasket / mounting template to make it easier to mark the holes for drilling. Soundoff, please add something for that.

I always use the backing plate included with the shroud kits. Or, an ABS cutout.

@@N8JLS ya, for my installs I don’t always have the shrouds or a template. Just a foam gasket would work for the hole locations

The instruction sheets, available on our website provide those templates. These are good for the 3" and 4" fascia lights, the 4x2, and the fire light sizes. The HD light doesn't include a template, but the 4" fascia should work for that as well. They are available online on our website. All that said, I agree with @N8JLS - specifically his comment about an ABS cutout. I usually create one for each of the different sized lights that I am frequently working with (based on the instruction sheet template). I find that works perfectly in most cases, and the template doesn't "wrinkle up" as you are trying to use it.

On the steady burn feature, would be nice to have a wire for each color. I believe on your tri-color, you cannot steady burn each color separately with a separate wire.

How did you get one with green?? All the major online lighting retailers seem to just have amber, white, red, and blue to choose from. Thats really neat. Haha with this light, could you ser one mode to be flashing amber and white and the other mode steady green?

We make them with green! They just need to be ordered that way. If you go to our website and click on "Find a Dealer" at the top, it will pull up the Dealer Locator. To answer your other question - yes you could get flashing amber and white, with steady green. You can even order it pre-configured that way!

Question! I have four dual color Red white 4”. Installed 01/2020. I have primary lights programmed with Red wire. Red/white wire programmed for steady white flood. Green wire connecting them all for sync. Are you saying the green wire can also be used for a steady burn of color 1? In my case color 1 is red. The green wire is already being used for sync. Could I also wire it for a -V switch to produce steady Red flood?

Hi! The green wire will force all modes of the light into external flash mode. It is designed to work with a external flash source. So in your case, if you grounded the sync wire, your red wire would ALWAYS product red steady, and your red/white wire would always produce white steady. Grounding the green wire via a switch would lock it into external flash mode until all power has been removed.. so that will probably not work as expected. However, if you wanted a 3rd mode, so you have red flash, red steady, & white steady, you would have to reprogram the light using the ConfigureIT App and have a Bluetooth programming module. That would work. If you don't have one, maybe get with a local upfitter. Most do. Or reach out to Customer Service at 800-338-7337.

Has anyone tried using these lights with a Whelen Core setup? I am having problems getting a cruise (dim) mode to work. How does it dim the light with blueprint?

bluePRINT works just fine with our lights. W's product likely runs at a different pulse rate than bluePRINT does - thus, it causes issues. Try using different low power settings from their program - i.e., 50% brightness on the Core program screen might not equate to 50% brightness for what the mpower light is looking for.
