Considering how Jack was close to Epel, I think it was safe to assume that Jack was loosely based on White Wolf or pups in one version of snow white, where he supposedly be killed by the huntsman and had his heart taken

you can read cater's school uniform, where he heard from ruggie that Afterglow Savannah (the place Leona come from) is a place that respect women very much also in Leona's robe story, he and ruggie talk about how they don't dare to fight the women at their place because of how strong they are
