Excellent work. Keeping the creature or chameleon mysterious with no thorough revelation and displaying the horrific chaos that transpires all around its existence. Well done. The music? Excellent choice. One of my favorite scores. The best fan trailer I have ever seen, hands down.

@@RetroHideoutI saw The Thing when it first came out in 1982.Loved it then and still love it today.HOW the critics panned this movie when it came out in 82, i’ll never know.This trailer is absolutely brilliant.That sense of dread.They should have used this trailer to rerelease the movie on its 40th anniversary back in 2022.Maybe on its 50th in 2032.👍

I know this was in 2015, but was looking for modern trailers for classic movies. This was great! And thank you for not showing any of the big effect scenes. This is how a trailer should be, making you want to see what it's all about and not giving away the spectacle.

Wonderful job on this trailer you made! This is one of my favorite movies in the science fiction and/or horror genres; I remember seeing it that summer of '82(I happened to be living in Washington D.C. that summer), about a week after seeing E.T.(which was obviously immensely more crowded). The novella it's based on is quite good also, "Who Goes There?"

It's very good work and it looks great, but I have to say it suffers a little from not having a pay-off at the end. Modern trailers usually put a big shock, surprise of reveal at the end. This sort of just fizzles out quietly.

Retro Hideout this is so cool and awesome anyway thank you for doing this The Thing (1982) directed by John Carpenter is my number 1 favorite sci-fi horror movie out of every other horror movie but not just me it's also my whole family's and all of my friends favorite sci-fi horror movie and we have considered The Thing (1982) the greatest sci-fi horror movie ever created out of every other horror movie as well:).

Superb work and thanks for posting this.I would have left out the clip of the spaceship wreck though. Maybe use the reverse shot looking from the shattered hull towards the three standing at the top edge of the crater. I think the spaceship shot is a 'money' shot in the film and shouldn't be directly revealed before seeing the movie. Also, the kennel scene clip from behind the dogs-Thing pulling itself to the roof has to be one of the freakiest, scariest images I've seen (even if it is in shadow). It is utterly unnatural. The actual release trailer from 1982 is excellent, so congratulations on carrying on that legacy.
