Aside from the Barricade Squad shenanigans, I believe both NASCAR & Goodyear found something good in this new tire compound. It created some good ol' bumpin' and bangin' without the tires popping left and right every lap. It also helps that the Next Gen body's wheel well provided a little bit of extra padding for the tires that allowed the drivers to be aggressive when going side by side.

This playoff system needs to go. I was there at Martinsville and left with a sour taste in my mouth. Not because of the race, that was amazing. But because of the damn playoff system and the blatant manipulation that came from both sides. Just have normal points like every other racing series. If someone wins it with 5 races to go, so be it. They deserve it if they can win it that early.

I think some of y’all need to consider the guys aren’t mad about the wall ride being enforced. They’re mad that common sense dictated Chevy manipulated the end so Byron could get in. They’re actually saying either let both Byron and Bell in because it’s a situation of two negatives cancelling each other out, or also penalize Byron and Chevy on the grounds of race manipulation and let someone else take the 4th spot.

@thatoneguywithayoutubechannel2 ай бұрын
Maybe because that’s not what they’re arguing for? There was very clear evidence of race manipulation going on with the Chevys and there was also a wall ride *attempt* by Bell. What they’re saying is you either penalize both and someone else gets the last spot or you penalize neither since they each cancelled each other out. Penalizing one without penalizing the other isn’t how they think it should’ve been handled. Also, he didn’t ride the wall by the way the rule is written. He slid into the wall and actively tried to get off of it without accelerating while also not gaining any positions, as far as I’m concerned he did nothing wrong. And now Joey fucking Logano has his 3rd championship so everybody loses.

Bobby Allison has been added to the playoffs. Edit: Even if they took Byron out of the playoffs, Chevy and Hendrick still win because then Larson goes in instead. NASCAR would just up the severity of Bell's penalty so he would never make it in to send a message about the wall ride.

@ here’s the thing, the reason Ross has that mentality is because for almost his entire career his job was on the line if he wasn’t constantly performing. I think in this case Ross slows down because he realized the best thing to do for his own job security is listen to the owners. It’s not that hypocritical when you consider that Ross drivers how he does because it’s what he sees as necessary in the moment. I think it’s also why at first Ross actually looks like he wants to pass Byron, because it probably isn’t easy for him to allow it.
