They claim twisters are the first synthetic bowling pin ever made but it’s actually the second. The first synthetic bowling pin ever created was the magna pin. The magna pin was made out of foam surrounded by a shell of magnesium which was then coated with the standard plastic cover stock.

I would think the goal of making a synthetic pin would be to duplicate the behavior of a wooden pin. If they fall down easier, I would have to say product is a failure. If you take away the challenge of a sport by making it easier with equipment, You are taking the sport a step backwards if you ask me. If the higher scores are because the product is more consistent, I have no problem with that

A lot of bowling alleys are not using wooden pins anymore. I'm sure there are benefits with wooden pins than Twister Pins, but some bowling alleys around some countries have been having problems with the low life of wooden pins now, wooden pins are easier to break than Twister Pins, bowling alleys will buy new bowling pins, and then after not that long, some are already weak, some already need replacing, they're just ridding of wooden pins and buying Twister Pins

The main issue with these pins for a center is that they can be so durable they break machine parts when a deck jam occurs. If the pin is stronger than the machine, and something has to give, I would always want the pin to give instead of a moving deck.

I don't like the Twister Pins by mainly the noise and the suface of the pin. I prefer the real pins made of wood. My favorite pin it's the Qubicaamf Amflite II. In my country (France), the Bowlings Alley centers use generally the AMF Bowling pins. After, I not say if the Twister pins are bad, but I don't like this pins, it's my personal opinion. Not all at once just over time, Over the years the ball continues to hit the pins, the machine continues to rattle with them, the Twister pin will get a bit dirty, and eventually maybe a few dints, the logo is just fine, but shouldn’t be a big deal, wooden pins, Nah, they break too easily, the ink just wears away over time, after some years they look worn out already, and something not even that long after you replaced them with new wooden pins they might even begin to break,

Think of the sound before you make them -.- No, I'm not spending 3 bucks or a dollar game to play bowling with kid's bowling pins. I like the design of it, but when it comes to hitting it and hearing the sounds, I give it a -100. Twister Synthetic Bowling Pins - 2 thumbs down Wood bowling pins - 2 thumbs up Even if the synthetic bowling pin always stays in 1 piece. I don't care, I'd still rather stick with wood.
The manufacture of plastic generates pollution, whereas wood process doesn't, plus trees regrow. So I agree.

If you watch this video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d4LVYpWVob52gqM Broken Wood Pins sounded worse than Twisters. Sure replacing them is easy but the money are gonna be wasted which if I was a mechanic, I rather spend the money for Pinsetter parts and oil/cleaner for the Oil Machine. Especially Bowling centers in poor countries can't afford to replace and would rather find pinsetter parts than pins.
@stevenm98926 жыл бұрын
These pins had there good and bad characteristics. When you hit the pocket light you almost always would shred the rack and strike. When you hit the pocket a touch high. The kind of high hit that on wood pins you would either leave a 4 pin or you would trip the 4 pin. On twisters you would leave the 4,9 split.

They have higher scoring, because they are more consistent, and that's a good thing. Bowling is skill based game, and any variations should be limited if possible. If they are approved, this means they same average characteristics as wooden pins, but they don't bend or damage so easily. And they are cheaper! These are all big pluses in this sport. And yet, people are complaining about sound (LOL), or the fact, that they are too consistent (better scoring). Well fuck me, lets go back to children setting pins, since pinsetters are too consistent.
