They claim twisters are the first synthetic bowling pin ever made but it’s actually the second. The first synthetic bowling pin ever created was the magna pin. The magna pin was made out of foam surrounded by a shell of magnesium which was then coated with the standard plastic cover stock.

Hence the permit number, which Twister is S2, while Magna is S1.

I would think the goal of making a synthetic pin would be to duplicate the behavior of a wooden pin. If they fall down easier, I would have to say product is a failure. If you take away the challenge of a sport by making it easier with equipment, You are taking the sport a step backwards if you ask me. If the higher scores are because the product is more consistent, I have no problem with that

A lot of bowling alleys are not using wooden pins anymore. I'm sure there are benefits with wooden pins than Twister Pins, but some bowling alleys around some countries have been having problems with the low life of wooden pins now, wooden pins are easier to break than Twister Pins, bowling alleys will buy new bowling pins, and then after not that long, some are already weak, some already need replacing, they're just ridding of wooden pins and buying Twister Pins

The main issue with these pins for a center is that they can be so durable they break machine parts when a deck jam occurs. If the pin is stronger than the machine, and something has to give, I would always want the pin to give instead of a moving deck.

Not all at once just over time, Over the years the ball continues to hit the pins, the machine continues to rattle with them, the Twister pin will get a bit dirty, and eventually maybe a few dints, the logo is just fine, but shouldn’t be a big deal, wooden pins, Nah, they break too easily, the ink just wears away over time, after some years they look worn out already, and something not even that long after you replaced them with new wooden pins they might even begin to break,

I don't like the Twister Pins by mainly the noise and the suface of the pin. I prefer the real pins made of wood. My favorite pin it's the Qubicaamf Amflite II. In my country (France), the Bowlings Alley centers use generally the AMF Bowling pins. After, I not say if the Twister pins are bad, but I don't like this pins, it's my personal opinion. I have four Twister pins, and I never bowl with. Bowling it's the best American sport, hell yeah ! ;p

These pins had there good and bad characteristics. When you hit the pocket light you almost always would shred the rack and strike. When you hit the pocket a touch high. The kind of high hit that on wood pins you would either leave a 4 pin or you would trip the 4 pin. On twisters you would leave the 4,9 split.

I like the design of it, but when it comes to hitting it and hearing the sounds, I give it a -100. If you watch this video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d4LVYpWVob52gqM Broken Wood Pins sounded worse than Twisters. Sure replacing them is easy but the money are gonna be wasted which if I was a mechanic, I rather spend the money for Pinsetter parts and oil/cleaner for the Oil Machine. Especially Bowling centers in poor countries can't afford to replace and would rather find pinsetter parts than pins.

I like this pin yes it does sound odd, but because of it’s high durability, permanent logo some bowling alleys have gone for the Twister pin because they’re finished with wooden pins, I already seen one bowling alley who got the Twister pin and will not be getting anymore wooden pins anytime soon. You may prefer the wooden pins, but you can’t do much if your local bowling alley has thrown away the wooden pins and will not be getting them again because they gone for the strong twister pin

These twister pins are dumb first the sound is awful it does not sound like bowling pins and I bet if you give someone a sound test and make them hear this sound of these awful pins they would guess differently then bowling and second at 6:00 you cut the clip and made a more crushed pin to make it look like the wood can’t hold it also making it easier to score? I mean c’mon people can take a challenge you don’t have to make it easier! Ratings for the pin: -9999999/10

Synthetic lanes, synthetic pins, reactive resin balls. No wonder bowling's glory days hit its peak in the 60s. When the game was raw, pure and natural. This sport is nothing what it once was. Technology ruined this game.

They have higher scoring, because they are more consistent, and that's a good thing. Bowling is skill based game, and any variations should be limited if possible. If they are approved, this means they same average characteristics as wooden pins, but they don't bend or damage so easily. And they are cheaper! These are all big pluses in this sport. And yet, people are complaining about sound (LOL), or the fact, that they are too consistent (better scoring). Well fuck me, lets go back to children setting pins, since pinsetters are too consistent.

One thing I’m worried about Twisters are sliding across the pindeck and won’t fall. I know cleaning the pindecks would be the solution but pretty much most Pinsetter Mechanics would rather clean the Pinsetters and not the pindeck.

These pins suck ass. Ever played on a set of dead pins? That's what these feel and sound like. I worked at a center in virgina between 2006 and 2010. We bought 800 of these pins to fill forty lanes and switched back to quibica/amf within a few months. What a waste of money.

Synthetic things are ruining the environment. Don't make bowling look like a shitty sport with those pins.
