I work in the gambling industry and frankly I think it is terrible to be showing gambling online to potentially underage children. And I'm including loot boxes and shit in this too, they're even worse than actual slots for the young generation. One problem with the slots thing is they are HEAVILY regulated and must be fair, and I'm glad you don't know much about gambling because I don't want anyone addicted to gambling. Also slots are usually the highest average paying game in a casino. That's why loot boxes are extra bad because they are exactly like slots but ARENT regulated

It’s children on twitch, not adults. Even if you are above 18, if you’re watching twitch streams, you’re a child mentally. I agree, however, people should have personal responsibility and accountability, but many people nowadays want the government or big corporations to determine what they should or shouldn’t do. Children are so obviously influenced by twitch streamers and KZbinrs, and the parents don’t seem to understand that. So people feel twitch is responsible for all this nonsense going on. It’s hilarious that parents have less influence on their kids now than some random millionaire playing video games live. So, at the end of the day, twitch should ban gambling as kids are dumb af and will be influenced by watching twitch streamers gamble, and twitch has to handle it because parents clearly aren’t paying any attention to the content their own child is consuming.
@emonkus2 жыл бұрын
@@dylan351321 I disagree. I still think even if you’re a kid and you get influenced that easily then you deserve what you have coming. I grew up during the times of the internet and not everyone on the internet in the 2000s-2010s was a great influence, but I was smart enough and had the ability to think for myself and not just become a clone of my favorite KZbinrs. You can't blame the guy, the people giving him money are just too stupid.
@godfreyofbouillon9662 жыл бұрын
Yes you can its not mutually exclusive. All scammers prey on stupid people does not mean we can't blame them and at the same time acknowledge the stupidity of their victims and that the victims should take some responsibility themselves lest they want to happen again with another scammer. Also if its OK for a smarter shrewder individual to appropriate the money of a less intelligent one, why is it not ok for a physically stronger individual to take away money from the weaker one ;)
@Wave_Boi2 жыл бұрын
@@godfreyofbouillon966 You should check the DM's for this guy, he used the common tactic of "My bank is frozen" and suckered people in. Like c'mon man, like that's next level stupid if you believed that. And there are some individuals who gave him money more than once without ever getting paid back first, you can't have sympathy for someone with room temperature IQ. Sure, if he suckered you once, then fine. But multiple times, and you still kept sending him money, then that's your problem at that point. Not to mention, the guy has 400,000 subscribers, at minimum he's making 1 million USD per month, even if his bank was frozen, he can stream for 12 minutes and have enough money for food for the next 3 weeks, and stream for a month, and he's making more than some NBA players... Also your analogy is kinda wrong, because I never said doing any of this was okay. I just said the people giving him money were too stupid. It's all illegal whether he did it by brain or brawn. But at least with a scam like this, you can use some basic common sense to not send him money. If he was in front of you threatening to beat your ass, then you're only options are to fight and get beat up or run.

They shouldn't ban gambling, it's fun to watch. As long as theres a disclaimer it doesn't really matter. Like you said there needs to be more personal responsibility. If you watch some dude play slots and lose money consistently then go play slots and lose money consistently thats on you. I play blackjack but expect to lose money when I play. If I win i got lucky, but in my mind I already lost money walking into the casino. And no, unless you're rainman you can't count cards in your head. You can get a feel but if you actually start counting and can do it they'll just ban you anyway. That's the only game in the Casino that's kind of winnable, just because of pure math.
