So, Twitch streaming has a very lenient policy on these things. As long as the content itself isn't intentionally or knowingly mature or adult content then it is okay to have a non-mature channel, but like in Rust or Cyberpunk. If you are aware there will be a scene where nudity will be present, then it MUST be turned on. As far as language, gore, horror, I have not seen any specific details on this.

2 F words doesn't not automatically put a movie or show to R rating. That is a myth. Its all about how you use the words and what context. Also we cannot control the truth when it comes to identity on twitch. Anyone can say they where 100 years old and it isn't questioned. Its accepted as truth. So the stats we see of how old people are that watch is will be a little inaccurate. Would be cool is it was a lot more strict. With birth certificates having to be scanned and so on but we all know that will be the end of twitch. The veiwers and streamers would drop soo low it will not be able to keep its head above water. The more tough it is the more people will give up trying and move onto lets say facebook gaming or youtube gaming.

From the MPAA rating guidelines, it reads, ""A motion picture’s single use of one of the harsher sexually-derived words, though only as an expletive, initially requires at least a PG-13 rating. More than one such expletive requires an R rating, as must even one of those words used in a sexual context." The guideline sticks, BUT, there is an exclusion rule that can be voted on by the review board and requires a 2/3 majority vote. It is VERY uncommon for this to occur.

it's not parents "don't care", it's just shifting the blame so the streamers and Twitch in general don't take responsibility. Imagine trying to control every piece of content out there, it would require parents to have engineering degrees it IT. Not only that, the monitoring would have to be a 24hr job, oh you need to go to a job or cook dinner? well, too bad. Companies have entire depts dedicated to monitoring employees and yet, one desperate parent is held responsible for monitoring a child's moment to moment usage...then they got mocked for being a helicopter parent!

I concur. Parents must be responsible for their children and the platform must do its due diligence, too, in a substantial way.

I’m a little confused myself. Do they mean porn?…or does this include video games with nudity or violence?…like ( GTA )

you do know that the kid will lie about his age like many others my nephew who is 9 years old i made him a twitch account to talk to people lol .
@Qualizar3 жыл бұрын
Lying about the age is already a breach of an agreement with the site. If you choose to do so, that is on you. But, coming from my perspective, I think there should be more enforcement over content availability to underage accounts by the supplier (I.E. Twitch).
