On Jeremy's stream, he had to redownload the rom entirely because he forgot to turn off wonderguard, and by the time he tried there were already 20+ pokemon who had the ability (for some reason they dont lose wonderguard when re-randomizing)

For anyone wondering, Luminescent Platinum is effectively just Renegade Platinum (a rom hack for Platinum) but for BDSP. So if it’s easier for you to emulate DS games then I’d recommend going with Renegade Platinum.

As the other comment mentioned, it’s basically just Renegade Platinum but in 3D through BDSP. So if it’s easier for you to emulate DS games, you’ll still get all starters and an eevee through Renegade.

Went back and watched ray play through of Shining Pearl and the mirror polished floors and and water textures are not new to this mod and if anything just slightly polished up with better reflections on it. The old did have a weird effect that blurred the edges of the screen a bit which greatly reduced the detail at the edges.

He played i think white normally and black 2 randomized but those games are so grindy and story heavy so he didnt like it. I also hate those games. Never heard anyone but die hard gen 5 fans call it the pinnacle of pokemon tho lol

The pinnacle of the series?! That is a claim I have never heard. Granted I'm sure if it's a personal favourite than that would be the outlook one would have. Ray has played black/white and a black/white 2 randomizer, and both times he's ran into the same issues. It's way too grindy, the late level evolutions for a lot of the Pokémon just become annoying, especially when NPCs have access to them before they're supposed to evolve. The story and the antagonists just did not click. Does it have good things? Yes of course it does, and there are things Ray liked about the game, but I think it says something when Ray couldn't bring himself to finish the game so he(and chat) watched a playthrough of it.
