Seen him live more than 10 times...don't really know anymore, but never heard him sing something he couldn't sing, he is just amazing. Jarkko and Nightwish are my favorites and if he would go there it would be just one of the greatest things for Nightwish. Check out anything from his catalog, but Adagio from Olavinlinna, just the acoustic there is so amazing. His Christmas church tours in Finland are very famous and they are sold out in hours when tickets are on sale. His concerts are amazingly good.

Ever since I heard the rumours that he might replace Marko in Nightwish and listened to this one I just hope and pray the rumours will turn out to be true... Just imagining him and Floor singing (more) Nightwish songs together is breathtaking already. ♥

Fans are just putting his name out there themself. These are not really rumors. For this to work out Jarkko has to cancel his entire upcoming tour for example. His tour starts exactly, when Nightwish's tour is suppose to start. So that's not good.

@@soundocean3765 I just fear, that people will be disappointed, when they choose someone else. We know how Nightwish fans can be. I have the feeling, that a lot of people are already far to invested in Jarkko being the replacement. Even if they ask him, he might not even say yes. Maybe he doesn't even like the lifestyle of touring the world all the time. His current gigs are all Finnland exclusive. Maybe that's what he likes. That being said. Of course I have the same opinion as everybody else in here. I think he would be the perfect fit for Nightwish. I'm just really careful with what to expect.

@@d34d10ck Unless I'm looking at the wrong page, most of Jarkko's gigs are scheduled for the spring, while Nightwish rescheduled theirs for the fall. I agree that people shouldn't get too invested before we actually know something, but the timing conflict isn't all that big.

My heart went out to Finland as a whole, all life long, really...cannot explain this inner feeling, being dutch and having such connections. This man has incredible and unheard talent/all members of Nightwish are natural born talents...he would fit in just perfectly........till our Marko returns!

Jarkko has his own band Teräsbetoni. They also represent Finland in Eurovision Song Contest in 2008. Northern Kings really is not a band but a short time , temporary configuration musicians from different heavy metal bands.

Jarkko says he never had a singing lesson because he feels good with his voice and does not want to alter it. He does not do written notes either. He sings Finlandia hymn at the President's Independence Day Ball.

I have been watching quite many of these youtube videos as I do not really know anything about streaming, anyways loving the content. I absolutely adore Jarkko Ahola's voice. If there is interest I think listening to some Northern Kings might be good idea too. It has Jarkko Ahola, Marko Hietala and 2 other amazing Finnish metal band singers doing cover versions of (mainly) old pop songs. As solos as well as a "vocal group". Not quite sure about the amount of live videos tho....(also no idea how the requesting thing works, so just if anyone is interested just recommend searching for them and have a listen)

I've heard Jarkko sing before. But not in this piece - I always wanted to listen to it, but somehow there was no opportunity. And I wanted to hear that also because Nightwish performed this song with Tarja many years ago. Tarja is Tarja - she plays in her own league and her performance is still my favorite but Jarkko did a really great job here! It's interesting that when I listen to Nightwish, I usually choose the live version - but not with this song - the studio version is unbelievably beautiful, and in concerts, Tarja never got close to what she did in the studio. In my opinion, of course - maybe it's also a matter of recording. If you haven't heard, listen - it's worth it! Coming back to Jarkko - you can't sing this song well without putting a part of yourself and your heart into it. He did it perfectly - you can see it and hear it. He has talent and knows how to use it - beautiful workmanship!

Jarkko's original bands include Teräsbetoni- warrior metal band where he unleashes his vocals for those legendary screams. AHOLA - his metal / hard rock band has interesting mix of styles and twists superbly intertwined and topped up with Jarkko's vocal tricks he has composed to himself...He has also released original softer rock album as solo artist and composed played and sang in a number of other bands and projects including international metal project Forces United.

I think there may be a law against having Jarkko as Nightwish's replacement for Marko. Let's just think about this for a second. A band with arguebly one of the greatest Rock composers ( and keyboardist) with argueably the worlds greatest singer ( no gender required), a great singer who is also a multi virtuosic instrumentalist, with a peak drummer and guitar player get another uncontrollably fanstastic male singer AND multiinstrumentalist. I think the concerts would result in death by "overwhelment". It's not a matter of whether Floor and Troy and Jarkko could sing together ( of that there is ZERO question), it a matter of whether audiences could handle it!

If it could help his career (but I don't think he need any help?) it's OK but I don't think he wants to be on long tours abroad - he had opportunities when he was younger ,but he didn't use them .so... whatever decision he makes, I will support him strongly. Of course I'm most interested in his own music than Nightwish.

In September, she released her debut album Getaway (Into My Imagination) at an amazing level, which went gold after two months. she writes lyrics for her songs together with her sister. A great singer but I hope he won't replace Marko's voice. Marko's raw authentic sound blended well with Floor. This singer is too refined and technical to fill this gap. Marko is a great bass/guitar player too. I have no clue how this guy would fill that though.

It would be amazing exposure for him. Look what has happened to Floor. I had never heard of Jarkko until the Nightwish rumour and as to the 'lead singer' stuff, Marco was the lead singer in Tarot. They could always give him a song or three to sing on his own, imagine a Phantom duet between Floor and Jarkko. The band all know him so that possibly an advantage.

Hey, stop slagging baritones, I ain't no DP tenor. ;) Choirmasters used to shuttle me from tenor to bass sections and back. I guess that makes me a real baritone. About Jarkko, the dude has talent.
