Oh man I can still remember your run from 2 years ago! I remember loving the commentary, and even though this time you were on your own you did a super nice job! Really great run too. This flashes me back to some awesome times on United Forever, back in the days where I would play trackmania to “relax” after some fierce CSS wars!

That's the idea. The tracks are built out of a bunch of predefined blocks - this allows for custom tracks to be designed very easily and a large part of the community is centered around building and playing through those.

Loading times aren't supposed to add to the time of the run, right? The timer usually stops during loading.

Personally, I think it's easier to make the small adjustments with a controller. But it really boils down to personal preference. Some people learn to play with a keyboard, so they stick with it

Why he have to beat silver not a green medal?

he beat the green medal on all maps, silver medal ghost is default and you'd have to change it every time and it gets annoying

It's about loading times. You do not have to move the mouse to select silver. It saves a few hundrets of a second per map which accumulates to a few seconds over the course of the whole run which would be an important loss of time.

@@lars38010 do you understand racing lines? i said i understand trackmania is it's own thing and there's a reason for runners to take those "bad" lines (probably about maintaining 3rd gear, or momentum or whatever, so the lines are actually perfect for this game and it's physics)

it's not supposed to be, but he wasn't running the correct program in the background, normally you would use a program that automatically cuts out the loading times.

@@arnex02 usually they don't cut loading times. at least I have never seen that in a speedrun.. you're probably confusing with split times

@@DecibelAlex I've seen cut loading times in plenty of speedruns! Watch Titanfall 2, they cut the loading times between levels and scenes because the load times are so heavily influenced by the PC or console it's played on. Therefore they make programs that stop the split or timer during loading screens, which also gives the runner time to catch their breath between levels! It starts right after the loading screen is over again.
