Its interesting to me how theres like 5 websites that do a 450 shootout and all of them praise the same manufactures but all get a different winner pretty much

I also really like the app yamaha developed with the bike, anyhow i guess it's indeed which color you like, and features like electric start and the app from yamaha, which you base your choice on.

Kevin Myers. I disagree. Foster has always almost picked Suzuki.. I've ridden almost all of these except the Suzuki and Yamaha and I think the comments were pretty accurate

I would believe these shootouts if the bikes were disguised and all brand logos removed first...ride three laps and switch...ranks bikes by number 1-6
@surg234 жыл бұрын
That would be awesome, but it's not even possible. All these riders would know exactly which bike is which simply by looking at the placement and inclusion of trademark parts.

LaFountaine picked the KTM? Any surprises there? Shouldn’t have a “test” rider that rides a KTM professionally. You could see him fumbling for reasons as to why the KTM is better than the Husky 😂 Other than that fantastic video! 👍

Ok so hang on. Five different riders chose their personal favorite bike on the day, and the only bike that was chosen as a favorite by more than one rider was Yamaha, and it ends up 4th in the ranking?? The Husky got one vote, the Honda one vote, the KTM got one vote (by a KTM test rider) yet Husky and KTM end up in first and second?? SO HOW DOES THIS WORK? How did you get your final ranking based on that??

frankly picking a winner does not mean much really. one thing they say is all of them are good! What may work for one person may not be what another likes or feels comfy with. talking about ave person out there in amateur ranks. rider levels etc come more into play than which bike you will be on. To me it is nice to hear what pros and cons each bike may have. In reality a person who is looking to buy needs to sit on one and get a feel for how it fits them too. seat to peg and bar relationship etc. bars can be changed but peg locations etc not so easy. power characteristics. a bike with alot of power or explosive may be too much to a less experience rider. so a milder power band they would be faster really on that.

Hey awesome vid thanks Transworld ! I think it would be cool to make a 250 4t vs 450 sort of shoutout. The point would be to know what's the better bike for different type of riders. For example : - a beginner - an intermediate - and a really fast rider. Or someone who rides agressive or another rider who rather be smooth and ride on the torque...etc
@JohnDoe-pf6qp7 жыл бұрын
You have to compare apples to apples, and 200cc's of displacement is going to make a huge difference. To the point it's not really possible to render valid comparisons. If you're unsure what bike is right for you go to a dealership with knowledgeable sales people. Beginners are pretty simple: the 250 is almost always the better choice, advanced riders are almost always going to want the 450. The intermediate rider is really the gray area.
@lucafabiano43127 жыл бұрын
As an intermediate rider so to speak i have a 450, way more power than you ever need but always super fun

JB 73 FILMS There is no way in hell, its better than the Husky, Honda, and KTM. I absolutely hate the new groupy crowd with the euro bikes, but IMO they are better than the Yamaha

Daniel Sanchez, I woulda thought the Yamaha wud of atleast been better than the Honda though..
@DanielSanchez-br7hp7 жыл бұрын
JB 73 FILMS I've ridden both Yamaha and Honda and IMO the Honda excel just a touch because I feel more home on one, the showa spring forks are about equal to the kyb forks, and the Yamaha feels just a tad bit bulky and heavy for my liking. Not saying the Yamaha is not a good bike, it really is. I just think the Honda suits more riders than the Yamaha does IMO.
@hreindustries7 жыл бұрын
ktm could give you a bag of shit on two wheel and you would still say its really good. all the other manufacturers could give you practically a factory bike off of the show room floor for 15k and it would still take last.

had a friend buy a brand new 2018 ktm 125 and the transmission was destroyed after the first ride dealership wont help him out told him he burned out the clutch and doesnt know how to ride he showed them his national championship qualifier and 4th place finish still told him nothing they can do... fuck ktm

Where's the TM 450 MX , Beta 450 , Sherco 450, AJP 450 thos is not a shootout , this is who pays the most for magazine ads wins that's all. TM 85 shootout was rigged . All the kids were bragging about how TM 85 handled , how fast it was compared to the other brands but yet these shootouts already know who will win . It's who pays out the most cash in there mags. Then 2017 TM 85 first year at Lorettas takes the 1st place podium. Every parent was pissed I heard lol.

If you pay attention to TWMX's bike shootouts to figure out what bike you're going to buy you are setting yourself up for disaster, they have the worst reviews ever...might as well be me up there "yeah man feels really good, pick your color they all rock" aka I have no fucking clue how to test and review a dirtbike I just ride the thing.
@JohnDoe-pf6qp7 жыл бұрын
There are basically two options for comparing bikes: 1. Measurable standards of performance: things like torque and HP produced at various RPM's. Of course the average rider about to head out on some track open to the public for practice is probably not going to be able to notice a few horsepower here or there. 2. Personal preference stuff that is always going to be highly subjective. In reality for the brand loyal people it's almost always an issue of as a kid they ended up on a Yamaha, KTM, or whatever and that's what they've always rode. They watch these shootouts just wanting their bias confirmed and are pleased/displeased accordingly.

having no kick starter will hurt these bikes and dissapoint many people once the new car smell wears off. id hate to be on the trail somewhere and not have atleast a backup kicker. this is the craziest thing ive seen in all these years, and i thought air forks were wild, e-start and no kicker takes the cake. ill take my super cheap super easy to work on old school 03'yz250 stroker. she alwAys takes care of me and is just as fast as these thumpers. for these kids who never grew up with strokers, u just gotta ride them different and ride them different on the track. look up these old pro motos where everyone is on strokers, they are riding just as fast, there are actually different styles between riders. more exciting to watch, hear, ride, and lets be real. the no lead in gas is what started this switch from strokers to thumpers and these manufactures realized once the tech became available that they could suck more money out of us consumers by forcing us on these thumpers, i.e. initial investment, parts, upkeep, preventative maintenance, and now super expensive batteries and electrical nonsense. its not the shiney do-dads that make a bike go fast, its the rider and his ability. i got a 85' yz85 that i could put a hurtin on many people who are on a 250-450s, and im 6' 185lbs. sad to see so many people be fooled and the wool pulled over their eyes. heck my 86' xr 250' would stomp these bikes in the woods, even with them having a woods setup. ride a 85' yz 250 and then lets talk about ergonomics of bikes and plush seats and power in engines. these new thumpers are starting to get on my nerves like queer quads on an mx track, or on any bike track for that matter. they destroy a woods track for bikes too. i dont understand why gncc doesnt let bikes run first then let all the lazy fag quads out the next day to destroy it. but anyway this one guy cant change the direction, but i can choose the fun bikes, good years, and pass on the knowledge to the newer generations. for them to grasp and try out or let go in one ear and out the other, this day in age reminds me of two things, first- has anyone seen the movie idiocracy? all i gotta say about that, and two, the part in the bible before the almighty gets angry. twmx. step up your game, kinda..well actually subpar to all other shootout reviews. thanks and by by now.
