I've heard you talk before about the bright lights being hot, I've had the same problem but found a solution. Get some exterior LED lights and set them up to bounce the light off the wall or ceiling, this softens the light and cuts down shadows plus the LED lights run a lot cooler. Hope it helps.

hey Wade, I got some cheap or as to say the cheapest 12 ga 7 1/2 shot I could get 1 oz to 1 1/8 shot, dumped out the shot, put in a spacer then put in a 20 ga clay buster wad cut so to fit inside the spacer inside the 12 ga wad, then, inside the 20 ga wad, placed a .535 235 grain round ball, crimped with a 600 MEC JR then test fired thru a 18 and 1/2 inch cut down smooth bore, single barrel (with no bead sight on the barrel) at 30 feet, standing free handed no shooting rest, and low and behold, 4 shots in a 6 inch pattern, and they seem to hit very hard, a side note this is a in house gun only, only closer then the 30 feet test fired distance, and yest I wanted a ball that would fit the 12 ga bore but stuff cost to much and now is hard to get, so, this will work, thanks for the videos you put up

Yes you did Mike! A good bud of mine down in Ga sent that piece of equipment to me a few weeks ago. I'm still dialing it in and am loving it as well. That very old ring sizer of mine is in need of some TLC. I wish that I had a penny for every hull that I've sized thru that thing since 1978!!

If you would like anothet one of those sizers i will send you one with a 12ga sizing ring, you will have to use your tube and crimp expander. I have 2 of these sizers and use the other one to deprime shells that i take apart from 410 to 12ga. I load 12ga on a texan and have a supersizer for that and also one for a texan 410. I’ve got some .540” round ball, wondering if a 3 ball load would work (3 is right at 1.5 oz). I’ve seen 3 buck loads before but don’t remember them being great. I think property supporting them so they don’t jam each other sideways when the charge goes off is key. Thinking 2 washers / donuts between them to keep everything mostly straight as it goes down the bore might be the ticket. I’ll have to figure something out, they fit pretty well in a 20 gauge wad so maybe I can use one inside a 12 gauge wad, almost seems better to find something that’ll go straight from .700” down to .550” to hold them instead of a bunch of extra pieces.

You need a high speed (slow motion) camera. I would bet you that if you could see what was going on with your shot (how they leave the wad / how the wad flys) you would have a far better understanding of what/why things pattern like they do. The whole a picture is worth a 1,000 words, storyline. How long does the shot stay in the wad out of the barrel? Does the wad opening pull some of the pellets off target? Is the wad spinning? Do the smoother pellets make a difference? Would dimpled pellets work better (golf ball)? Does pellet stacking matter? What if the shell was made so that the wad was the size of the barrel? Would it fly straighter? Does the wad wobble as it goes down the barrel? Does it always come up flying perfectly straight or does it come out flying cockeyed sometimes?
@BubbaRountreeOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
Yes it would!! we have discussed that many times around here. what a tool that would be!!

In SC it is illegal to use rifled slugs on a deer drive. I'm sure that it's safety concerns! No shot size limit on buckshot other than: No shot smaller than #4 buck. Big shot is okay!! We can shoot slugs if not on a drive using dogs or other hunters! So slugs are legal to shoot on a still hunt.
