@@selloi1869 He retired from the main stage in 2018. He still plays on the senior circuit though and just announced 2024 will be his last ever year as a competitive darts player, I think he'll become a World Darts ambassador after he properly retires.

One of the most respectables qualities in Taylor is that he respects his opponents, whoever it is. Never undermines the opponent, always praises them - if the opponent doesn't play well always says he didn't play to his best - if the opponent plays good, he says it was a difficult match and the opponent is an excellent player. Most important of all - never says I am the No 1 or the best player. He deserves a lot of respect!

Mate, he's so far ahead of the rest, I'd say Taylor can also claim to be the second and third best in the world too.. the most indomitable sportsman of all time! don't think there's another sportsman with as much clear water between his wins and the next player's wins, in ANY sport.. and he's still getting to finals in his 50s. This current BDO world championship is sooo poor without the likes of Taylor. Taylor would decimate any of these players. BDO is a pub event and as such is pretty boring. PDC is the only thing worth watching.

Guys, I may not know much about the BDO events in darts (I'm American) but from I read here from you guys, the BDO could pave the way for many to get to the PDC, Phil Taylor, Michael Van Gerwen, Wayne "Hawaii 501" Mardle, Peter Wright and other greats to grace the oche had to start somewhere, although the BIG-TIME is the PDC.
