All good games should expect a sequel to improve. Admitably this game is not great. I wouldn't say it's terrible but I feel that comparing it to it's spiritual parent games like Resident Evil it was disappointing. The Evil Within 2 though made it a franchise I would be happy to see come back

We then experience a preview of Pat Stares At, where he quietly Ted Talks about various game features. It then ends with a half-hearted, flaccid goodbye before the dry but enthusiastic Matt returns to replace it. Truly the peak of Pat. Insightful. Reflective. And seconds. From embarrassing disaster.

I just got this game for almost free. DLC and all. I'm only in Chapter 9 and I've gotten frozen, glitched frozen, glitched out of elevators, glitched into a permanent grab animation, glitched through the floor, glitched into walls, glitched into enemy attacks, glitched into space, had glitched out AI that wouldn't trigger the way to progress, been trapped staring at the mirror, been trapped in the 'asylum' safe area, etc. Chapter fucking 9.

Tew1 and tew2 are resident evil while resident evil 7 and 8 are doing outlast and other shitty first person western games (it actually was another game. @@kato093 "Also this game is amazing" It had flashes of brilliance and a few shining moments, but ultimately it was forced out the door too early and the lack of polish shows (such as how the letterboxing interferes with the game design and the general technical issues). The second one is brilliant and shows just how good the first one could have been, had they been given the time they needed. As for resident evil, it has been in a rut since 4 and 7 was a brilliant return to form while striving to achieve something different, rather than rehash the same game ala 5&6. I will admit i'm concerned that 8 is bringing back chris and ethan, but i am interested. Also i'll agree that outlast was pretty horrible.

Tew2 lost its charm a bit and made a worse and less interesting story but damn they made those open maps really fucking good. The fact that you get rewarded with a shotgun, sniper rifle and crossbow by exploring is incredible. Another shitty game like re7 would be too afraid to let you miss such items. Both are FUCKING GAMES, old school japanese games. Its amazing. They are no scared of having some jank. Japanese game devs are gameplay>anything. Western devs are random shit like map size and number of quests (skyrim and the witcher), how fluid animations are even if its not fun (red dead 2), jumpscares jumpscare and more jumpscare while you cant attack enemies (outlast, re7) etc...>gameplay. Also re7 was a trash. Easily the worst resident evil game. They might as well make a fucking kart game with re characters at this point. Re4 was an evolution of the old games with more action, re5 and 6 were evolution of re4 with even more action BUT with incredibly improved gameplay/gunplay to an insane amount. Re6 is easily one of the best action games, like devil may cry, doom and vanquish.its a fucking drug to play. I dont even know how many hours i spent playing mercenaries mode, its so fucking GOOD to play. It FEELS amazing. The freedom to do the craziest awesome shit and NOBODY has made a game like that since. Meanwhile re7 is simply a fucking change of genre. It lost its soul. They could literally just change its name and NOBODY would realize that it was resident evil. Now that re 8 has fkn werewolves, vampires and other shit, its even worse. Thats why re7 sold 216.000 copies in japan in the first weeks, compared to 727.000 copies with re6 and 380.000 for re5, while the user base for ps4 is actually bigger. Also it sold 3.5 million copies, short of the 4 mil expectations. You might say "but re7 sold 7.5 mil copies. And re2 remake sold 6.6mil". Yes. But only because it was cheap, very fast. In fact re2 remake and re7 made the same money for capcom. It came out in 2017 and it was like 8-10$ 1 year later on psn. Most of the time its there for that cheap on psn. By the time re7 had sold 3.5 mil, re2remake was at 4.5 mil. And just 1 year later they cannibalized the sales of re2 by releasing re3 remake. Re5 sold 12.8mil. Re6 sold 12mil. So NO, re7 wasnt a return to anything. Capcom is happy because they made re7 cheaply, recycled and had 1 enemy for the whole game, had short story and its basically a double A game, outsourced to the US.

Gizmo Fistmeister TBH, I never take that perk anymore simply because it's so ridiculous. I'll even use Project Nevada when I'm playing NV just so I can disable gibbing for firearms... I feel like the only time something should explode from a gun (and not explosives/blades) is if you get a direct hit with a sniper rifle or a shotgun.

Even with a sniper rifle or a shotgun, it's still hilariously unrealistic. The only time you'd see that kind of over the top gore is if you're tagging someone with a .50 cal, those things can straight up rip people apart. Even without a direct hit, it can do some serious damage

This is the second time I watch this one, and I just kept being reminded of how much I wanted to play it even though I was watching the LP at the time, since while I don't get scared by games, I just really enjoy the pace of most Survival Horror games. But as I started to play it on a friend's house the moment he bought it, the game hard-crashed, which is why my friend got his first and only refund to date, and I decided to not bother with it at all. Fun times with the Evil Within.

I just got a really good perspective of how bad the letterboxing is with this game. When I watch videos on mobile, sometimes the little bar at the top of the screen that usually goes away for video pops up and blocks an annoying amount of the screen, but with this game, it just takes up a small, insignificant sliver of the letterbox. The letterbox cannot be stopped.

+Pope Fiction manhunt really straddles the line between a fictional work and violence without reason. Almost. It doesn't cross it like that game Hatred, which was a shallow and pointless game that tried way too hard to be like Manhunt and the like. Manhunt is a pretty good satire of torture porn, and I think it was done so well it's easy to miss that and see it as empty violence.

Hey spooky, just wanted to give my compliments to your editing skills. It's been almost 3 years since the video came out, but eh whatever. While everyone is complimenting the big editing from the first death, I gotta say the skill in your editing is everywhere. I appreciate the cool trick cut at 41:01, if you intended it in the first place and I'm not talking out of my ass. Kind of neat how you use the expectation of the guy exploding to cut to a "meat explosion" on the next shot.

Huh, so Sentinel and Laura's second boss fight DID bug out for me when I played it. Sentinel wasn't nearly as aggressive and mostly just wandered around while sometimes trying to leap at me. He was especially useless when I was fetching the glasses. Meanwhile, Laura did her entrance for the third rectangular room, but then disappeared for the rest of the sequence and only came back in the cutscene.
