Bride Akisha has brought her fiancé's best man with her to her appointment. She hopes to get his opinion on the dress that she's hoping will blow her husband-to-be away. And across the salon, bride Alicia is hoping her dad's advice and support will lead her to the perfect wedding dress, suitable to also hold her insulin pump on her big day.

I've binged most the episodes here, and most of the men I've seen in clips have brought up lots of problems, and the female crew can be super supportive. They can be toxic and jealous as well. Of course the show will want to highlight drama, but all's to say that I don't think those personality traits can be limited to one gender :) P.S. also clarifying my original message, I did not mean to say all men bring in drama, but with SYTD's track record, that's what I was expecting to happen

I didn’t realize that Pnina Tornai made affordable dresses that wasn’t over 6k. Both brides looked beautiful in their dresses ♥️ I’m even more happy that they didn’t settle for a dress that someone else loved. They seem very excited and relieved at the same time. I wish them all the happiness on their wedding day.

Pnina's dresses are just tacky though. I wouldn't pay 1k for them. The first one the first bride tried was way more flattering (just the neckline was weird). The one she picked looked like an eighties prom dress gone wrong. Large bows are also very garish make you look like you've been gift wrapped/are a prize-winning animal at a local carnival. But I guess if she liked it it's her choice. The Lazaro dress that the second bride picked was beautiful- quirky but classy.

I alway feel, they take the bride’s budget as a starting point instead of her max budget. If I were buying there I would tell them my max budget is $1000 less than it actually was. That way if I fell in love with a dress it would be in my budget.

I feel like it's a basic rule in wedding salons all over the world - they take your max budget as a starting point but won't get too high in costs (it's considered if u find THE dress of ur dream - u'll find a way to pay for it) I experienced it myself- my dress cost +30% above my budget Never got married though

@@marinaogn Hi Marina. So sorry you were unable to use the dress. I think people also fail to include the cost if alterations and taxes. Alterations can run up to $350. Brides find the extra money and the wedding ends up way more than one initially expected. In the end it is a 4-5 hour dress. Hope you find your true love and can wear the beautiful dress you chose.☺

Plus, even if they find a $3000 dress, the taxes and such would put it over anyways, ya know? Like, with an 8.25% sales tax (not sure what it is in NY, but I'll start there), that's already an extra $250.

That’s the dress she asked for and more importantly made her happy. Most importantly she was confident with her body and not a crying baby as most of the brides shown at Jo’s that leave the salon on the A line dresses looking like antique dolls.

Dress #1 had such classic elegance that, if one looked beyond the typical bling = pow (which it does NOT), was "pow" in its simplicity. Strategic (but not overdone) touches of jewelry would set it off. Both of the other gowns had skirts that joined the top at a VERY unflattering place on her derriere that, even after custom fitting, still looks way bigger than "normal."

It was disappointing that the consultant didn't intervene to show the bride some similar dresses to her vision but that would have accented her figure better. I don't think a long-waisted dress would have been flattering, but what she wanted with a corset top and a hoop skirt would have made a huge difference.
