Why remove the existing port gaskets to replace with new?
@RidinDad

When you crank down the headers, it squashes the exhaust gasket. The new header might be slightly different too. Just a good idea to replace so they can create a good seal

Interesting, no mention of how difficult it is the remove the stock lower exhaust flange nut on the front cylinder and how to gain access to it, best tool to use and how to achieve it (I couldn't get a swivel socket to go in my 2018 LR). Also, what about disconnecting the negative from the battery terminal [as per the Service Manual], this will avoid any error code resulting from removing the O2 sensors.
@RidinDad
@RidinDad 4 жыл бұрын
nevillegreg1 I had no issues getting to any of the flange bolts. Much easier than my buddies fat boy honestly. I used a swivel only for the front bolt and they were all easy. And yeah I could/should have disconnected the battery terminal but I didn’t feel like it was truly necessary since it was so minor. And if there was a code my power vision would have showed me what it was and I could have cleared it anyway.

I LOVE the sound of that pipe. The only thing holding me back.....my OCD. I wish the muffler was a little more parallel to the ground, that little angle up glues my eyes to it. UGH! I see we also decided to kiss our warranty goodbye? :D Side note, what's the song near the end "Get ready for London?" Can't find that anywhere. Quite catchy!
@RidinDad
@RidinDad 3 жыл бұрын
All the songs in my videos come with my editing software to use for KZbin and such. I don’t know the name off hand or where you’d be able to get it. An app like SoundHound may be able to tell you what it is though? It could be slightly off but it looks parallel to me in person on the bike. Pictures of it leaning over just make it look like more slanted up I believe. And yeah. I don’t buy a vehicle with the intent on keeping it stock and utilizing the warranty. I don’t believe in using sub par parts just to keep a warranty valid that will expire in a short time anyway. In most instances I’ve seen, people don’t need the warranty until it expires. Very rare on a bike well maintained that you’ll have to use the warranty in the first few years
@RB-tx4mn

@@RidinDad appreciate the fast response bro. One reason I love your channel! Now that you mention it, I've been checking Google images and I think you're right on the angle. Off the stand it does look ok. I've got the Barracuda Silver LRS and can't decide on black or stainless for the pipe. I really want to use an aftermarket tune, but it really freaks me out because I have ZERO mechanical ability and my luck I'd need the warranty somehow. Sucks.
@RidinDad
@RidinDad 3 жыл бұрын
I don’t wanna be responsible for anything lol but if I was a betting man I think you’d be fine. I’m doing a reviews for long term ownership of the pipe in the next 2 weeksish too!

I was told to use the screaming eagle tuner to keep my warranty. Do you think it’ll be as effective for a simple stage 1 tune as a Vance and Hines tuner? I know it’s a pain to do the screaming eagle but I’m mainly worried about performance.
@RidinDad
@RidinDad 3 жыл бұрын
My motto has always been not to worry about warranty. Warranty will be up before you would ever need to use it in my opinion. At least for stuff the tuner would void. Honestly stage 1 probably wouldn’t make too much of a difference since performance gains are mild anyway with a stage 1. Just remember the ol “buy once cry once”

@RidinDad
@RidinDad 3 жыл бұрын
Hey thank you!! I’m sure there are torque specs for just about any bolt. I’ve done a decent amount of work on bikes and I rarely use torque specs. That being said it’s your call lol. There’s been a few times years ago I actually used the manufacture specs for some thing and the bolts broke before they ever got to it. Multiple different spots and brand new bolts. @RidinDad
@RidinDad 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks man!! On this frame there are two sets of passenger peg holes. The bikes that come with the pegs on from factory are positioned in the bottom hole. The top hole has little plastic inserts to hide the holes unless you have to use them. So for this exhaust, and most after market exhausts that cover the default position, you just use the top. There are better pipes as far as performance goes I believe but they’re about double the money which is why I ultimately went with the tbr. And I chose the comp s style due to sound. I could be wrong but heres my understanding.....installing any aftermarket part NOT HD will void your powertrain warranty. I also understand HD parts installed at home in DIY fashion will not completely void your warranty but give dealerships leeway as far as warranty work and your bike will not be guaranteed coverage if that makes sense. Someone more knowledgeable than me might say otherwise but thats how I understand it. It's ultimately up to you but heres my opinion....if you don't purchase a huge extended warranty, just do what makes your happy. I personally do not like the HD tuner, most air cleaners, or any pipes/slip ons they have. I don't think any warranty work would need to be done prior to expiration anyway truthfully. Let me know what you're thinkin man!

just got the same exhaust ordered. Got all the old pipes off, but my 2 foot control bolts are star bit not allen/hex. Which ones do you have and do you know the size? Since mine are star bit, I attempted to use a T40 but it's a hair small and as you can imagine, I didn't find that out until it started to spin/strip. So I stopped right away. Those bolts are soft and in there super tight, so i'm concerned i won't get them off, therefore won't be able to use the spacers and new bolts, thus new TBR pipe won't fit. I was able to get the brake arm off and that made just enough room to get the old pipes out. Do you think it is necessary to get the right foot control off or do the spacers just make it easier and more room? Very good video, i watched this and one other one to decide on exhaust and to watch the install. Just ran into this hiccup...

Ben Spurgeon thank you man I appreciate it! As far as the bolts. I’m not sure what bike you have but I would be willing to bet they are a torx 45 size. Depending on what bike you have you’ll have to remove the bolts you can it the pavers on there. If your bike doesn’t need spacers for your foot controls and you can squeeze the new pipe on there than you should be fine. But either way it would be easier for you if those controls are off. Thanks man! I don’t remember what I had on the bike at the time of this video but I have an upgrades video with some 6 inch risers with some pullback and the stock bars. @RidinDad
@RidinDad 4 жыл бұрын
Texastacticool I believe it’s up to the dealer. I’ve seen people do it themselves and the dealer honors the warranty. However once you put a non Harley tuner on the bike it 100% voids it

@@RidinDad yeah bro so my Harley people told me just put the pipes on my self and run it with jo tune or changing the intake and once something happens just put your regular exhaust back on and bring it in and they won’t red flag it and should be good and swap Bsck again
@RidinDad
@RidinDad 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah that’s true. If there’s no tuner they won’t know. BUT it’ll be a pain to swap out exhausts just to go back to the dealer on the rare chance you even need to. Plus no tuner means you’re leaving a lot of performance on the table

Great videos! , I have been following the progress on your Low Rider S and learning a lot on how to do my own upgrades. I recently purchased a 2021 Low Rider S with less than 3k miles and installed today the same TBR Comp S exhaust as the video, my problem is that my bike comes with 4 OS sensors instead of 2 like yours; wonder if it is because of the newer model or because the bikes sold in Mexico have different specs. Also installed the DynoJet PV4 and update the firmware but the app shows only one file to flash for (Full exhaust / High Flow intake); I noticed your app even shows TBR 2-1 exhaust in the flash file description. Have you ever heard of a problem like this? Any suggestions? Thanks a lot and all the best. Mel Angel

Yeah I have a ton more videos. This one is super old for my build. The power visions need to have extra files downloaded from the dynojet website. You pick which ones for your setup then download them to the unit. Then flash the bike. I’ve never heard of 4 o2 sensors before. That is super weird man :/

exhaust looks bitchin. I called Harley and they explained to me I HAVE to use the SE pro street tuner otherwise my warranty would become void. I would specifically want this tuner, but I may have to wait for 2 years before I do anything to maintain my warranty. Thoughts?
@RidinDad
@RidinDad 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! 👊🏻 my personal thoughts on warranties is that I don’t care. I truly feel if there is a product that you want that is going to void your warranty then just get what you want. If some thing you were going to put on the bike let you keep the factory warranty then that’s a bonus but I never make any purchases around it. Especially when the parts that allow the warranty to stay intact are sub par and not as good as the other ones available. In the end it’s completely up to you, you have to do what you can live with. To me I really don’t feel like I will ever use the warranty in anything I ever buy. When things start to go south for me it’s always well past the warranty expiration. I was actually just talking to someone the other day that was complaining when they had the screaming eagle tuner that they could not really get a good tune for a new set of cams as well as they could have with another tuner.

Hey. Great timing lol. I just bought those same risers this morning! The bars I have currently are stock. And the risers are the 6.5 drag specialties with pull back.
