These models look and sound very realistic - you can almost smell the diesel fumes! Thanks for uploading.

Great to see a happy customer. I hope my GBRF example runs as well as yours and I can sort the coupling out. Lovely layout
@torridonroadbypeterdixon41622 күн бұрын
Hi yes indeed, the coupling issue is a case of removing a little bit of plastic on the replacement buffer beam, you can see where the excess has got to be removed from and then maybe cut back what's left on the vac pipes as they foul the top of the tension lock coupler. Hope it all goes well Cheers Peter

Hi Peter. Great to see you back in the train room, roll on summer ay. Beautiful locos, even got a little fan for the driver, certainly not in use at the moment. I do like the Bachmann figures, just installed quite a few of them in my turntable yard build. Thanks Peter. Thumbs up thumped 👍 ....Pete and Su....

So glad your two are issue free Peter, i also have two,the crazy liveried Sonia db Steel on Steel sound and the doyen of the class 60001 Steadfast non sound ,it comes with so many extras as its a LE special inc a gorgeous replica steel Brush traction works plate and a lovely pictorial box.I like you have no running issues, ok motor a little noisy but not enough to concern me. But i can see a lot if modellers out there have noisy motor issues and mainly i believe haven't been lubricated at the factory as in gear towers drive shaft and gearboxes .Be interesting to see how the Accurascale 60 compares. A great running session from you and look the part, hope your keeping well cheers Nick.

They are brilliant locos. Like you, I fitted my own figures, had to remove one arm rest per seat to fit them, which is fine, not visible once the body is back on 😊
@torridonroadbypeterdixon41622 күн бұрын
Hi, yes indeed I nearly had to do the same as I had to remove quite a bit of the figure but as you found once all back in place you can't see anything Cheers Peter

@@torridonroadbypeterdixon4162You can buy figures to fit but at £14 sod that! Cut one arm of chair job done.

Well, things are looking good at POMS. More new exciting items to play with in Torrington Road, I see. The Class 60s look smashing Pete. I'm waiting to see how Accurascale versions are first before I spend any shackles on one or two. Anyway, keep well, Pete, and a pleasure as always to see your videos. JayCee 🕊❤️🎵🚂🙏🤞
@torridonroadbypeterdixon41622 күн бұрын
Hi JayCee, yes, a good idea. I went for the Cavalex version because I like the detail on the bogie sides. Somehow to me the Accurascale bogie has some "extra" detail believe it or not However I could be wrong. Anyway I hope you will enjoy whatever model you decide on Cheers Peter

Hi pete glad both of your locos are running OK , mine was sent back to rails a week ago as the motor was so noisy you could hear it over the dcc sound also the amp draw was very erratic, I'm still waiting to hear from rails to see what they are going to do i.e refund or replacement
@torridonroadbypeterdixon41622 күн бұрын
Hi Paul, Oh dear, that's not good. Hope you get it sorted. Both Cav and Alex of Cavalex are keen to make sure customers are happy with their product, so pretty sure it will be done Cheers Peter

Hello Peter, I'm so pleased to see that your 2 locos meet your expectations and that you've had no issues. That of course is how it should be. I imagine that you have already checked this but can I ask you whether your locos, with the sound off and running at higher speed, make any sort of humming, whirring, droning or drumming sound, almost as if the wheels are spinning and only half gripping on the track? Despite the full strip down and lubrication of mine (because there was none...Yes, I'm the unlucky bloke you mentioned!) it still make these sounds I've just described and asked you about. I'd appreciate you investigating this too, thank you. Apparently, so I understand, the retailers are now checking the models for lubrication too so they will catch and deal with the problem before the models are sent out and arrive with the customers. I'd still check yourselves though, just in case! If anyone also has the sticking coupling issue, where it doesn't self centre and rubs in the buffer beam slot, there is a fix that works 100%. Trim off the underhanging plastic obscuring the coupling buffer beam slot by 1mm with a scalpel/craft knife. It's very easy to do as the plastic is really thin there. Cav of Cavalex models said to me that it was because the factory used the wrong buffer beam backing moulding, which is slightly bigger and was only meant for the other supplied closed magnetic buffer beam. Anyway Peter, keep up the good work and stay warm! Kind regards, Julian
@torridonroadbypeterdixon41622 күн бұрын
Hi Julian, yes I saw your videos, which is why I checked mine to make sure. Now the model makes noise, a lot of it from the wheels metal on metal if you know what I mean. Someone has said they cleaned the wheels with a glass fibre pen and got a nice silver shine that stopped what was a rumbling sound from them. I will do a video running the loco at 15 speed steps of 28 and then run other locos to compare soon. Also today I finished the running in as I had not completed it when I made this video and one loco developed a squeak. This I sorted by using Peco power-lube on the wheel pickups. Hope we can sort you out All the best Peter

Delighted you are ,the extras and presentation will blow you away! Sam's trains not to happy with the extra twenty five pounds the Cav is compared to the forthcoming Accurascale class 60.Well 60001 Steadfast certainly makes up for the price difference, enjoy!

@RedShedNick The thing is the old Bachmann 40 is £280? And the old Bachmann 45 is £245 Some folk seem to forget that.
