Hey Dave thanks heaps for your help at Manfield NZ the other day. Bike feels wayyyyy better and was great to meet you. (Black/Orange GSXR)

Dave does charge low for Initial Set Ups, but I think his prices are Market Based. Any higher, no customers, any lower, time wasted. To have this man turn any screw or bolt on any bike deserves way more. I think riders all over know this, and he probably has a healthy tip jar. The Suspension Whisperer.

his prices are probably cheap for his level of knowledge

I do come to OR. I lived there for 15 years before I moved to CA. I am trying to coordinate with PSSR for some dates this year to include a suspension school and a suspension workshop. Apparently they don't start until May. Dave Moss Host

For this rider, we added more fork rebound damping due to the age of the oil to 38 clicks out from full soft. Low speed compression ended up at 10 clicks out. Shock low speed compression was at 14 clicks out and high speed at 12 clicks out. Rebound was left stock and the preload adjuster was at the softest setting. Geometry remained unchanged. You don't finally learn - its just creeps up on you through repetition as you are experiencing. Go one control/concept at a time and work with your own bike wen the suspension is hot as i do with students in the suspension school. It took me three years to understand how all the parts interact, 3 days how to learn to push a bike to evaluate suspension. Notes, test, notes & repeat :) Then get the DVD's and you will have a quantum leap re understanding.

Having paid $20 for Dave to set my bike and feeling the difference...I have to agree, its worth WAY more than $20! Very appreciative for the value though! Looking forward to seeing you again this year!

Street tires like the Q2 that are track/street blends would be great, even during cold spells. Just set the tire pressure correctly to make sure that the tire gets to operating temps. An easy way to check is that you should see a gain of 5-7 pounds cold to hot and should feel hot to the touch. Track tires in cold spells need to be pushed to make sure they stay hot. Subtle but important difference. Street tires can handle many heat cycles too. Dave Moss Host

Please go to the onthethrottle site. Go half way down the home page to the search window left of center. Type in ZX14 and you will get the two links to each part. We showed part 1 in the show. Dave Moss Host

theres a story that goes a cruse liner broke down in the middle of the sea and they were stranded. the repair man was flown out to repair the ship, within 1 hour had replaced one valve and had the ship running again. he charged £40,000 for the job, the captain is furious with the cost. the repair man says the charge is £10 for the valve... and £39,990 for the knowledge of which valve in the 10,000 parts that needed replacing. knowledge is power. For $20 to have a bike set up i wouldn't complain

Wondering if you still do this Dave and if so at what tracks and when?
@KeyserSoze542110 жыл бұрын
When you say x amount clicks out,do you set the clicks out from hard or soft? Up until now I've been under the impression its from turn them fully in (clockwise) then back them off however many clicks (anticlockwise) until the desired amount is achieved.

***** Thanks for the reply Shane!....I actually had the suspension adjusted to my weight and the bike feels great....I'm still trying to wrap my head around the power of the bike, but I'm gaining more confidence each time I ride***

Does anyone know of anyone even 10% as good as Dave in the UK? I'd love to get my bike setup for road riding but i'm struggling to get something that feels nice as a base point to improve upon. Cheers (2001 Ducati monster M900 SIE)
@2dL12 жыл бұрын
That's what I said. The guy that handed over 20 bucks for that kind of setup should've paid him more. I don't think 20 bucks is right for any set up done by a professional.
