I'm a 16 year old girl, and I love your videos. I find them so positive and calming. My mom passed away when I was 11 years old, and I always love seeing other families love and cherish each other. While I haven't lived in a very family oriented home in almost 6 years, I find it so inspiring that I can one day have this - a family to love and share joy with. I love your videos, and I can only hope for more to come in the future:)

Hunter, this is a very touching thing you shared. Tom's dad passed away when he was 10. I'm sure he can relate somewhat with what you've been through. I lost my mom six years ago and knowing how tough that was as an adult I can't imagine what it would've been like as an 11-year-old! I trust God will bless you with a beautiful family of your own someday and I suspect you will appreciate more than most.

What fun traditions! LOVE those costumes! My dad was the cinnamon roll maker in our family, too. He used Jiffy mix and a bout a ton of cinnamon. Best things ever! You have such a cool family.

It is really nice to live in a small town. It's so funny to me when people assume we're isolated because we don't go to a conventional school or church. We have friends everywhere we turn! I mentioned a few specific people in the video, but we knew just about everyone- at least by sight- at the community party. When I was young I thought city life would be great, but I'm so thankful now to be where we are.

What do you do if/when one of the kids gets sick?? Like if they have a really high temp.???

That happens very rarely at our house. I've never given pain reliever to my four youngest kids. I trust that if their body is producing the fever, it's doing it on purpose and I don't want to interfere with the healing process. (It would be different if the high temp was from heatstroke or something.)

Love those costumes!!! WE did some thing similar this year for my son. He was a "stick man" And we made it out of glow sticks. we broke the sticks right before we went out. And the costume was all black like yours. :)

Tom wanted to use glow sticks, but I couldn't fathom trying to keep it all together for 8 costumes. Did they stay put all right? I'm sure Tom will want to try it sometime if they did!

I used Clear packaging tape. I just went around the legs and then around the arms. when we did the chest ones i put a piece across the front then around the back and attached to itself so it would stick. The one the was his "stomach" stick i just taped down the front of his hoodie and tucked the tape under the waste... It stayed all night! For the around the head i just taped on top and the 2 sides so the botton of the circle was free. I wish i could send a picture on here so i could show you. It turned out even better then i had planned in my head. lol :)

Im in the UK and my two children use the ACE curriculum so i really love all of your videos. You are a patient, clever and inspirational person and my 2017 routine is to be more like you:) Can i ask how do you explain Halloween to your little guys. As a Christian we go to light partys dressed up in any costume that is not a representation of anything dark.

Those were really creative costumes so cute! How did you attach the masks on? Again I love that the costumes served double duty has their new hoodies and pj pants! I saw the girls had this new teal outfits on too! Looks like a fun time! The cinnamon rolls looked delicious!

Tom made the masks out of black foam poster board. He poked little holes and fed a rubber band through and then used a little toothpick piece to keep the rubber band from being able to be pulled back out. (I think he put several rubber bands together to make an extra long one.) I hope that makes sense. He also cut some black foam pip insulation to put at the top and the bottom to help hold the mask away from their faces and give room for their noses. If you pause at 17:48 you can kind of see the backs.

Please make a video of how to make the cinnamon rolls! They look delicious! 😃Also, was that a water fountain plumbed into the corner of your kitchen? If so, that's a really neat idea. I bet it helps cut down on the amount of water glasses everywhere when your kids can just take a sip from the fountain whenever they want any. Cool!

Sometime I think Tom will try to do a cinnamon roll video. Yes, that's a water fountain. Many years ago I was on a mission to reduce my workload and I thought a water fountain would cut down on dishes. The first one we had was a ceramic 1930s model that was really small and cute. We had it for a couple of years, but it had a tendency to leak and we couldn't get the proper rubber gaskets for it because of its age. We finally got this new stainless steel model a couple of years ago. It doesn't have the charm of the first one, but it also doesn't leak. It's cute seeing all the kids and their friends lined up at the fountain waiting for a drink after they've been running around in the yard. It gets used many, many times a day!
